Remote Start added to Silverado 2017 WT

Hey there, i Own a 2017 Silverado 1500 WT Singlecab. Currently am trying to figure out how one would add remote start. My Truck came without keyless entry but does have power locks. The windows however are manual. Would I have to add the keyless entry kit first to be able to add on the remote start kit? Also would it be best to buy and install at dealer or maybe buy part online and take to dealers and have installed?

The factory remote start is on a keyless entry fob. Also, before the remote start button will do anything, you have to press the lock button on the fob.

So yes, you'll need to add both.

Some car stereo shops also install remote start systems. One of them may be able to install an aftermarket remote start system for you.

I just happened to think that it might affect your warranty if it's not done at a dealer. It would be worth asking about.

Im kind of leaning on keeping my Truck Factory for the most part. Ive found kits for remote start that come with the remotes and plug in harness. That wont work unless ive already had a keyless entry fob before? I know theres fobs witout the remotes start circle arrow and ones with it

Trust me I data link. It is a few wires and just communicates to the bcm. All shops use it or a version of it.

my parents ran into that problem with their 2000 Bonneville SSEi. they had a problematic seat memory issue that would keep popping up days after they fixed it. then they said they wouldn't fix it anymore because it had a remote start. even though it had absolutely nothing to do with the seat memory...
