I need to get mine done I’m at 5,000 miles and 43% pad life not as bad as some I’ve seen on here. I’m gonna get it done when I take it in for the seatbelt recall

If your over 6K they won’t reprogram it

I’m at 23k and they did. They were originally supposed to put on new pads, then said that was only for the Cadillac. So it was reset to 100%. They tell me that my pads weren’t showing any wear and our close to that. Maybe, those are almost all highway miles. But whatever. I’m just glad it’s not throwing up error messages any more, or showing 14%.

It is an official recall for the 2019 Sierra soI assume for the Silverado also. Took about 45 mon for a software update. It shows 99 % now.

Is there something else? A bulletin isn't the same as a recall.

Just curious because mine was fixed months ago and I never had a recall about it.

Since it's just something visual and not safety related, I can't imagine it was an actual recall.

When I went to mygmc.com it showed the recall. I took it to my dealer and they didn't know about it yet. When I told them it was on MYGMC.com they looked it up and said they had been updating them but were not aware of the recall but that it was right there.

I found the receipt. The recall number is N192264451.

That's interesting.  I do see the recalls now on the website and I also have 2 but they are these:

  • N192273510 -  Loose Alternator Cable
  • N192268090 - Brake System Malfunction Warning
I do NOT have N192264451 but I wonder if that's because I had it fixed already.  I wouldn't expect them to be that "on the ball" quite frankly, but maybe they have an OTA system capable of this. Just because I had it fixed prior to an official recall.

Mine shows the same 2 recalls needed but does not show the one I had done anywhere. If I would not have found the receipt I would have never come up with the number.

I dropped off my '19 Sierra with 3007 miles at the dealership to fizx the brake pad life indicator (currently at 62% on mostly highway miles), seatbelt fire hazard recall, and learned of a loose alternator cable recall as they were writing up the service ticket. Being honest, I am disappointed that there are 3 recalls on a $60,000 vehicle in the first two months of ownership.

Well, it's 4. You should call them back up and ask about the Brake recall I mentioned. (N192268090) There are 2 apparently. One for Brake Life % and one for malfunction.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
