Well about to head to Talladega for race this weekend with family towing my 34 foot camper, that camper makes my truck like a little mini truck . Yes I heave a brake controller Aired my tires to 50psi also did the 6.2 intake and Tb swap and it’s not been tuned but it sure does pull a lot harder from idle to redline after warranty is up soon it gonna get a dyno tune .

Looks good, have fun,, I moved my sisters and BIL's 34' first week of April to their new camp site. Great family memories camping and going to the races.

Of course we forgot to check the very last awning on the rear and he had to adjust it later that week, but was fun moving it and getting it into place.

I just upgraded my suspension with the roadmaster active suspension, it's a world of difference towing and everyday driving. I tow a 32 ft trailer and it greatly reduced bouncing on rough roads.

Have a great safe trip.  Your next truck should be a 2500HD

So made the trip and back from the nascar race at Talladega. Truck did great went up and down mountain no issues did avg 10mpg transmission temp did climb up 228 degree max, But it went down soon as got on flat land .

Looks like you got to see a heck of a race.  That peak trans temp would worry me a bit.  You might want check your fluid and see if it's dark looking or smells burnt.

As long as your weights are within the specifications of your particular truck you will have more than ample power to pull your trailer up and down the mountains and on flat land.  Problems you may experience from towing such a large trailer with your 1500 will not be from a lack of horsepower.

Mountains? You go via Tennessee?

Took my 32ft camper to Montgomery this weekend. Averaged 9mpg. How was your mpg?

Ya I live in Tullahoma Tennessee. Avg was 10mpg .but I did use e85 on the way to the track then 87 on the way back .still did 10mpg on way back too.

You need to readjust your WD hitch

This. That back end is still squatting a little much.

For those that are new to towing and reading this thread, when your back end squats down that much, it's actually lifting up your truck's front end.  Think like a see-saw....one side goes down, the other side goes up.  You can end up losing control of the vehicle and worse, lose most of your stopping power as the front brakes aren't able to take as much of the load like they're supposed to.  Plus when breaking, this causes the downward force on the hitch to increase therefore further increasing the lifting forces on the front end.  This is dangerous for you and other drivers.  A proper weight distribution hitch will correct this.  Your truck is likely more than capable to tow a trailer of this size based on horsepower and torque alone.  But how it carries the load has to be addressed as well.  There are some good youtube videos out there talking about weight distribution hitches and how they work.  I recommend checking those out.
