While I have never been denied warranty, every time I go to the dealer they tell me to remove my CAI and replace with the factory unit. They even tried to blame my shot 8L90e as "possibly caused by the intake". I had to produce TSB's to convince them otherwise. Was a bit of hair pulling, had I not been so versed on the common problems and had a TSB describing it, thank God for this forum, they would have tried to shut down my warranty claim which would have been $5,000CAD out of pocket. A regular Joe doesn't know what a TSB is, so who's to say they haven't turned down hundreds (or thousands) of claims on less educated, or less persistent consumers? If you engine blows up and they determine that you have tuned it and up'd the timing and pre-detonation has melted a piston, they aren't going to cover your motor unless your a bombshell blonde with double D's and the service manager wants a date. Apples for apples, the L86 is the biggest bargain in performance available for a GM truck. It would still be a better option than a whipple charged L83, even if the L86 was a $4k upcharge. No replacement for displacement.

I’ve built a few big blocks in my day. I’m old enough to bought factory big block hot rods. Non can hold a candle to my stroked blown 5.7. small block. Been using tunes since they’ve been available. Only had one warranty failure. Transmission in a 06 trailblazer ss. No problems getting fixed. Never an engine issue. I average a new truck every two years since 91 until I retired in 2015. I drove an average of 50K miles a year. That’s a few trucks. Add to that 2 brothers and father in a family business doing the same. Some with highly modified diesels. And sprinkled in a few blown gas trucks. A little common sense you’re not going to have issues unless there’re factory problems. The manufacturer has gotten a little crazy internally on these engines now. That’s why I stick with the old stuff. If I was still buying for work and wanted to modify. It wouldn’t be Chevy or Ram.

I would call the gm severice rep. There are laws about this.
My dealer sells brand new trucks with superchargers and intakes and brakes and lifts. They know I have a turbo and tune and trans. All is still covered.
But I also would don't about anything for this blonde DD girl you speak of. [emoji57][emoji57]
