Liters per 100 km is the common way to display the equivalent of MPG where you use the metric system.

Yes I understand that.  In my work I use both unit systems all the time. I had quickly made a meme that referred to the Phil Hartman SNL caveman lawyer sketches, but then deleted it because it wouldn’t make sense to people who hadn’t seen those sketches. I didn’t save it, but it was something like this:

I initially posted a meme poking fun at your base ten units but decided to delete it.

That was in the mid 70's. Just stop using imperial and move on. LOL I was the first year of school kids to have metric from grade primary on up so metric is not a problem. Then I went to trade school where you learned to work in imperial and all the building code was metric for firetruck sakes.

When the switch was made, I was in high school.

After high school I took mech eng.

We had to learn to use both systems.

After graduating I spend time in both automotive parts manufacturing and heavy offroad equipment design/test/development.

Both industries were doing new design work in metric.

Anyway, I generally use both.

Speeds, distances, temperatures, weights are easy to use both ways.

But is still detest using L/100km instead of mpg
