What tires

Hey guys I was wondering what tires your running? I’m in Wisconsin so it needs to be decent in the snow. Currently I am looking just to run one tire year round unless someone has a good reason to buy another set of rims and run summer and winter tires.

Truck is a 2018 Sierra 1500 with a topper and 250lb of sand of it matters. Tire size is 275/55R20

Snow tires will be a night and day difference in the winter compared to any all season tire. If you have the want to run winter tires/rims, you will not regret that decision.

It's mainly a cost thing and space to store them that can be a pain. Newer vehicles tend a cost a little more because of needing sensors for the TPMS system. And if you do go this route, drop down to some 17's or 18's because cost will come way down on the rims and tires compared to 20's.

I personally have Firestone Destination LE2's on my truck now, they are a good tire even in the snow. I'd maybe buy them again or switch to some Michelin Defender LTX tires that are better. Or if I did have winter tires I would have a more performance summer tire for the warmer months.

Can’t remember if I posted this on another thread; On my 2018 Sierra Denali Ultimate i installed BF Goodrich Winter T/A KSI. I am extremely happy with theses tires so far as we got our first decent snowfall of the season. I dropped down in size from the 22” as they weren’t even available. Got 265/70R17 . Haven’t had to use 4 wheel drive . It’s a really nice tire, not noisey and really bites.

Absolutely. Winter tires work much better in the winter, whether it is cold and rainy, deep snow, compacted snow, or ice. I like better.

Sometimes other drivers make bad decisions, and you are left to make a split second decision, with no space to spare. The little bit of extra traction over an all terrain tire could keep you out of trouble. If running winter tires for a lifetime helps me avoid even a single accident, I'd say it was worth it.

another vote on Falken WildPeak AT3W. Have been running for about 5,000 or miles now and actually just had my first opportunity to use in the snow, we just got hit with 11 inches on Monday. While they are not like driving on cement, traction was noticeably better than the stock Goodyear LS2s. Additionally, steering is much better in snow/slush mix. Stock tires use to push when I made left or right turns. These tires hold the line and I turn with much more confidence now.

Another perk of these, at least in the size I run, P275-60-20, they are snow rated.

Just got the grappler g2s. Not sure about snow yet, but wet and dry roads I'm impressed with. These things feel like a sticky tire.
