Want to run parking lights without headlights on

Hello, I was wondering if someone knows how to disable daytime running lights on my 2015 Silverado 2500. I think because it was built for Canada market they are on all the time when in gear and nothing I do will turn them off.

On mine if you turn the knob to the "AUTO" position it will disable auto light control and in turn shut off the DRL. After that, I believe if you turn the switch the parking light position it will just light the parking lights. 

 

I could be wrong though. It's been a while since I've played with it.

That's the way my 14 works but it's not from Canada

Deal with it op. It’s been discussed on here a zillion times. You would have to do some surgery with BCM to get it to work.

OP has a canada truck that trick doesn't work they're programmed to be on.  There's a few loooooooooooong threads on people arguing about this if you ever get bored lol

Been doing some research on this and found that a change of the BCM would take care of it or maybe a reprogram of the ECU. Does anybody have info on this? What might be the cheapest way to go about this? Also, was wondering what BCM should I be looking for if that"s the path ... Thanks

you’ll want to dbl check with them it works with the Canadian trucks

I saw a write-up where one guy disabled/removed the spring in the headlight control knob, and left it in the OFF position.

There’s another thread somewhere else on here where a guy with a truck tried the remove the spring in the switch mod and it still didn’t work.
