I got controller today but am a little over my head. Where do you find the PID code numbers so know how to add a gauge? Also since the boost gauge just goes to 15psi, is there a way to add a different one that goes higher?  Thanks for any help

Hard to say.  Need more info on what program you are using.  I use ODB Fusion and use the digital version of the gauges so it will go above the 15 psi of boost

If it's like my app you hold down on the gauge and from there you can switch it to a digital one.  I used this video to setup mine.  Every app is going to be different

Push and hold the gauge, click on display configuration. Here you can change the minimum and the maximum.

You can also change the name and how many decimal points it has.

The only custom PID I added was for the current gear.

Everything else is in there or just might be named differently.

If you want the PID for the gear I have attached a screenshot you have to fill it out exactly like that.

To add a custom PID go to settings, user-defined PID, click okay and then you should see a menu icon and you can select new.

which PID did you use on Regen to get the active / passive part?  Also do you see a PID or sensor for OIL Pressure (not temp). Since the water temp varies so much from factory gauge, thought it might be nice to see where the oil pressure is.

Thanks for gear setup. It took a little testing to figure I was not going fast enough to get to 10th LOL

I added DEF for the first time yesterday at 4,025 miles. I had one full bar remaining and it didn’t come full from the dealer. It was a little over half full when I got it.

I picked up Blue DEF from autozone. Did you guys know it’s not actually blue? ?

Whoops my draft got deleted.

It uses a variable displacement oil pump. Dealership won't do anything unless the belt snaps or it sends frags through the engine. I don't know of a PID for it. GM is pretty good with their pressure gauges.

I raided PIDs from the L5P and Colorado kids.

It's called DPF regen status I just changed the title.
Never had a "level 2" Regen I assume that is the forced stationary one.

I just refilled my DEF first time since I bought the truck. 5300 miles exactly. Put 5gallons in and it over flowed a little at the end. About 750 miles of the 5300 was towing a 5,000 trailer.

Not sure what is going on with my gauge, but I have 3600 miles on mine and it was down two bars on the DEF gauge and all of the sudden today it is sitting at full on the DEF gauge.  I'm not sure why it is showing that since I haven't filled it.

"range gauge"

It's supposed to be a tool for you to estimate how far you can go before you need to refill based on recent driving history.

I get its a "range gauge" but what I don't get why it would be down two bars for a month and then jump to full

    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
