I never noticed this with my 2019 5.3 powered truck. Im thinking its fuel sloshing in the tank or DEF sloshing but I can't be 100% sure. If it is why just on the diesel. Not sure what else it could be.

Pretty sure it is the DEF sloshing in the tank. I once noticed something like you described after I topped off the DEF tank and moved the truck.

My 2023 3.0 vs my 2020 5.3 I hear the same. Its like a bed full of water sloshing. Not found of it.

Had an '21 LM2 and now running a '23 LZO.

Haven't heard any thumping sounds in either of them.

Interesting.  I have the LZO with the NHT and frequently at different throttle inputs, I hear and feel small thump with the 1st to 2nd shift.  3rd and above are smooth.

I have a 2021 LM2 CC at 23K...never noticed it but after reading this I pay attention as i back out of the garage. It occassionally has a thump...which is the rear brakes grabbing when cold. If slow and touching brakes i get the brake grabbing thump, squeak thing. Seems to be only first thing in the day after sitting all night.

I’ve got a thump coming from the rear and feel like I’ve narrowed it down to the fuel tank. Only does it when I come to complete stop, like the fuel sloshes forward. Seems like it happens on 3/4-a full tank.

Have you brought it up to a dealer for possible resolutions?
