Sure it will.  It is technology which means it is not perfect and subject to failure.

The sky is blue.

My wife is going on a store run. First one in a while. Eggs, bread, milk and some other goodies. Amazing how this has changed. We have priorities depending on crowd size. Even an abort scenario. Gloves check, scarf check, hand sanitizer check. We even have a leave area for food to sit past the bug date. We buy things that can stand a bleach rub down. I sh$t you not. Even a strip down area for clothes to go into the wash. This is what our government and news cycle has left us with. Back to normal? I hope in my lifetime. At least I know how my wife felt when I went to work on pipelines. I think I’d rather not known. Living in fear sucks.

Just continue being cautious.

Your list is almost identical to ours. We store the sanitizer, wipes, gloves in what we started calling the KILL BAG. We don't leave home without it.

Interesting read. They were on this hard and early. Absolute lock down IN THIER HOMES. Even the highways systems closed down. One person per family was allowed to leave the house once every two days. Three months of this.

I caught a snippet the day they lifted the lockdown. The city was literally barricaded like a Medieval siege with prison wall high water filled blocks zip tied together to isolate the 11 million that live in Wuhan. And we think we have it tough? The snippet was showing solders draining and cutting apart these poly walls.

Could there actually be a reason for the low count in China?  ?

And yet they were able to fly to Europe? Northern Italy? California?

That's the stupid thing at Costco that I've noticed.  All the carts are now outside, so you need to get the cart before going inside, then in the entrance, a person stops you and wipes off the handlebar.  Stupid, as whatever was on the handlebar is already on your hands/gloves, and will go right back on the handlebar when you touch it 1 second later.

The Costco near me was doing that about a month ago, I just sighed from the stupidity.  Now, they have someone outside sanitizing them all before you take one.

What really gets me is when I see people walking through a store with gloves and a facemask on but they've got their phone up to their face which is now contaminated from whatever was on the gloves.  I make sure to point out the stupidity to my 8 year old so he knows better when he grows up.

Yea. If you read the link there was about a 3 week window between first case and lockdown. Or were you thinking someone on the planet has the eyes of God and could look at the first case of a brand new virus and say, " Yep, brand new, lock it down, it will be a killer".

Be reasonable.

Playing with the dog on the carpet and began to wonder where would the virus most likely be, on the floor.  Couldn't get off the floor fast enough.  Now instead of just taking off the shoes in the garage and spraying the top, I now spay the bottom along with the floors in the truck and house.

Wife came back from the store. They have half the carts.

The grocery store where I shop will only allow seniors in the store the first thirty minutes of opening.  I can get my normal cart load of goodies and be out of the store before the younger crowd comes in.  Sometimes it's nice to be older.

A few observations that reinforced what I already knew. There are no experts. Just best guessers. I already knew to wash my hands, my mother taught me that. Fear washing is new. I could have guessed there’s probably more people carrying the bug than first expected. When you have people in our own country fighting good works because of politics. It not a stretch to think China could care less. If it says made in China, I ain’t buying it. I hope there’re other choices. Life is not going to be the same. We’re going to be afraid of our neighbors. Jury’s still out if this had to be handled this way. Even at this late date, I’m not buying it.

Probably some of the more excited replies are people who are being financially ruined or knows someone who is. I stated last Sunday that the walk back will begin. It did and will continue. The media will soon start blaming Trump for over reacting to this and causing a recession. How do I know this you ask. Easy they said he acted to fast before they said he acted to slow. They people on the sidelines face with financial ruin are watching and saying WTF.

Can't blame some people, they have been programmed to believe that Our president is the next coming of Hitler by the media. Too bad they can't retreat from the group think project. Instead of the media asking the Important questions about China and the WHO mishandling this, they choose to blame Trump who went against WHO advise of banning travel. The left( many including Biden, Pelosi etc) that said travel bans are racist are now saying the administration didn't act fast enough. Sorry but you can't have it both ways on that one. And now during the middle of the crisis Nancy and Schiff's most important priority is starting another politically motivated investigation into nothing once again to further waste time and money. Seems like a perfect time for an investigation right. If people were thinking for themselves in a rational way it would be clear to see what is going on here. Not saying that the virus is fake, but at this point its political.

Spoken like a real trooper. You could just block it. Ifs it’s too much for you.

True, I can block it.  This won't change my comment.  After dodging IEDs, 5.56, 7.62, and rounds from grenade launchers, nah, this is not too much.

Six hours of comments have been pulled by the moderator. So I wouldn’t say anything about the cancel culture and just leave it at that. The political stuff I’m guilty too. I’ll try my best.

As noted. Back off on the political talk. There is a line and some are crossing. Vacations will be passed out. The Admins are letting this thread run for now. Any other time this thread and any thread like it would be shut down. Y'all have been pretty good at staying on track with only a slip here and there. So if you want to continue, play nice

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
