I’m reading and watching everything thing I can. Nothing else to do really. I was disturbed the most when I saw the earlier WHO presser. Pretty much praising China. CNN troubles me with the constant Trump basing. Hannity makes me puke. The lady doctor at the nightly presser seems reasonable. Dr Fauci I don’t trust, his numbers seem out there. Nancy and Chuck are chomping at the bit to start another investigation. Trump was shutting down travel as they were walking impeachment papers to the senate. What a country. Proving watch- read all you can. Throw away the high and the low, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I track WHO and the CDC plus https://ncov2019.live/data. This last one is a high school kid that data mines the entire WWW. His numbers are almost the same as WHO. I listen to the Governor/Chicago Mayors briefings. This one is newer:

https://geodacenter.github.io/covid/index.html

Updates twice a week.

BTW we passed 1 MILLION cases a few minutes ago.

Good points, but the country is either left or right.  Where is this middle?

The country is center- right. People at this point have no patience for any bashing. They want to see everyone working together. People are really watching now. The pressers are the most watch programs currently. The left would be wise to chill for awhile.

And I see now that Cuomo in New York doesn’t want to use the anti malaria drug on people even though it shows SOME promising signs. I mean if your near deaths door why not try it?? What is his angle? I thought he was all about saving lives?? He is on tv everyday about how he needs more stuff to save people.

China

83,185 Confirmed cases since Dec 2019

  3,318 Dead

76,142 Recovered

     466 Serious

 3,259 Still ill

If you add the dead and recovered / Confirmed cases China has a 95.5% resolution. Highest in the world. Next closest is 23% in the Middle East. It also has a 3.99% mortality rate and it looks as if they are close to the light in the end of the tunnel. That number is significant because? 1.) The recovery is near complete so most accurate data. 2.) As they did better with this than we are? (see below)

Put this in perspective. China's population is 1.4 BILLION people. They did good. We are but 327 million and have eclipsed them in at every marker but resolution were we are under 6% recovery.

I think some things are like this mask thing. Don't wear one, they don't do any good (when first responders are in short supply) then everyone should wear one (after first responders are supplied). Another thing China knew three months befor us.

Kind of like herding sheep(eople). Common sense the Lord gave geese should answer some basic questions, right?

We’re not trusted. I knew what the mask thing was. Common sense, yes. That’s why we’re all at home. We can’t be trusted to wear mask properly or gloves and sanitize. Otherwise we’d be working. We’ll have to learn. If not when we get permission to venture out. The curve will go back up. Shocking I know.

If you keep out the political narrative, you're making some pretty good points.  I said your comment above earlier, this is personal.  I knew what the mask thing was, I am not trusted, I need to have common sense, I need to stay home, I can't be trusted to wear mask properly and sanitize, I have to learn. And if this is not personal, the curve will go back up, shocking I know.

And Russia is spreading a lot of false information on the net, you tube etc. Trying to undermine western governments. It is hard almost who you can believe right now. A lot of BS out there.

Oh it’s all political, especially the coverage.

Older people like to go on cruises. I’ve been on about 30. Older people like to go to casinos. I go 8 times a year. When I travel from the Houston area to South Carolina. Doing these things we (older people) learn how to wash our hands, wear gloves and even wear mask. Usually we’ve gone through a few periods dealing with growing children. Dealing with viruses isn’t new to us. Usually it’s the younger folks that need to get their act together. It would help if you all listen to us. We’re ready to go out to play.

This is on the CDC site.

Influenza Chart Infographic Influenza Burden Chart

             0.176%           0.129%          0.126%         0.127%            0.170%          0.096%             0.131%          0.136%

People comparing Covid-19 to the flue pick the highest death total eight years. I posted the MR below each season.

With a population of 327 million the 2017/2019 years total flu illnesses is 13.7% of the population

IF we hold the line at 45 million, worst flu year and have the Covid-19 MR that China had.....1.8 million lives could be lost.

The hope is by the measures we are being asked to do this can be avoided.

I find this concerning. The Chinese population is 4.3X the USA. They held to 82,400 cases and only 3,322  deaths so far. Sounds like they have a handle on it and still a 4% death rate. We can say this and that about the stats. But here's the thing. A death in the WHO record is also a record of conformation. It is statistically a closed population. A sound sample.

SO...someone explain to me in the face of these FACTS how 2-SARS is just another flu bug.

Taking anything out of China as fact is foolish, don’t you think? Just a few minutes ago Italy curve is bending. Good news. It’s said New York is about 7 days. It’s really going to be real hard to get anywhere near the possible projective deaths based on that. Good news too. Here’s hoping.[emoji120]

No I don't have any trouble at all.

It's WHO information.

Born in 50's and arriving during the reconstruction of the far east we laughed at the entire Asian population as being backward and ignorant. I remember opening up friction cars and seeing Libby's on the inside. Now just about everything they do is better than what than west is WILLING to do. Half of GM is built in China. Our best cars, bikes, bearings, silicon tech....all far east. Hey, over 80% of our manufacturing is in China. Somebody trust them :)

Given their current COVID track record maybe asking for some help might make sense.

?

At least copy the plan. Gezzzzz.

60K deaths is a bad flu year. Some think in certain areas, California for one Coronavirus may be mixed in there with flu. The reason is early in the year they believe it was already there. That reason is that’s where most China travelers come in. People are puzzled why at the moment California is not the epicenter. Herd immunity is the thinking there. Meanwhile 10 million layoffs in the last two weeks.

the Chinese travellers and Chinese Investor are landing in Cali, but everything is overpriced like real estate and business opportunities not functionable here, this is a reason they are moving eastward to where they can smuggle cash out of Asia and burry it out of site of Momma China, and invest in large warehouse tracks, community Church enterprises, etc..etc.. its all about money cleaning and getting they're children out before the big crackdown on them!

Several news organizations print and televised have discredited the WHO and China numbers. The CDC was slow to the picture too. I read everything. I’m maybe too much of optimists. Running the numbers out don’t match what’s being reported, yet. Otherwise one more month isn’t enough. That’s really unthinkable. I prefer to stay optimistic to the bitter end. Otherwise no ones pension is safe. Even social security. It’s just two weeks to the truth.
