chinas stats are so friggen far off but if the media says so it must be true, lol

Unless you are responsible for gathering China’s stats, you got your info from the media.  A lot of stuff heard or said is media.  Even this thread, social “Media”.  You folks don’t worry, so as not to infect you, my Dr said for me not to leave my house right now unless I need food, water, or meds.  And no, I am not positive or have any symptoms.  This is personal and not as much about someone else.

I may be in this alone but I wonder if anyone else has noticed the shameless ingratiating that's now displayed in advertising?

Cadillac advert comes to mind. Many others. Oh, Angle Soft toilet paper advert is killer. Hoard people we will make as much as you can store!!! :crackup:We are here for you in your time of need! (wink-wink)

To me, the people who are saying at this point in time that influenza kills more people is like someone in December 1941 saying World War 2 was less deadly than World War 1. It's too early in the outbreak to draw that conclusion.

I think this was the scariest part of that article for me: In a study of 44,672 cases in China, around 14 percent needed hospitalization. If a scenario close to this plays out in the US, every hospital bed in the US may be occupied by mid-May, according to some estimates.

(No, I'm not American but I can extrapolate that estimate to other countries.)

I actually took a note of hope in the part where it talked about the effect of available care has on MR. Of course 'available' does hinge on cooperation but we do have pretty good care in the US.

I was a bit disheartened in the story of the young man turned away for lack of insurance that dies in route to the county/state hospital. Sad humans can be that cold.

Already leveling (hospitalizations doubling every 6 days instead of 2-3) with intubations decreasing. You cant pay big lib handouts without tax money coming in, and Cuomo is pointing that out. The walk back begins...8564b57600c641a7b561d9b540d0e1a6.jpg

It's reported that 20 states does not have a sheltering at home order.  Just because those folks are not positive or have any symptoms, doesn't mean they didn't have it or don't have it.  During a typical flu season when I don't get a flu shot doesn't mean my sniffles and cough wasn't the flu.  When I was out getting my meds and groceries the other day, I saw 10 people at the park playing basketball.  I kept my distance, didn't want them to get infected.  It's tough, but when at all possible I need to stay at home and look out for them.  They're immune system may not be as strong as mine.

Somehow Mook I can picture that session with ease. You likely scared the poor fellow to death.
