Has anyone found a bed rack/overland rack that they really like? The pickings I'm finding in my online searches seem to be slim for the T1's. Anyone have something they really like?

While we're at it, has anyone found an overland tent set up that they enjoy?

Many of the tracks are weak or waaaaay over priced.  You might be best served by fabricating your own or seeing if a fabrication shop will build you one.  Price will most likely come out close to what you can purchase but would be significantly stronger than what you might find on the web.  I believe softopper has a soft top and tent combination that might fit your needs.

Putco makes a super expensive bed rack..like $1300 or something. Seems crazy from my Toyota days but c'est la vie. Subbed in hope someone knows of cheaper, mid-rise racks for RTT use.

These are the new fad with huge bump in tacomas lately. Have you looked at lead time for 4runner/tacoma parts? Good luck getting anything with 4 months, and i'm sure its worse now.

My point is, all the "best" manufacturers are small shops, demand is through the roof the last few years causing huge price hikes and long leads and they're focused on the small truck market.

I'm going to sub in case someone finds something good.

Thanks, everyone. Appreciate the interest.

I'm wondering if it's better to go for the small, locally built rack in this case. Sounds like there may not be anything of note on the market just yet. Like @cseaman said above, Putco makes one - https://www.putco.com/venture-tec-rack-184000 - but that seems to be the only "brand" option I can find online. And you have to buy mounting plates separately. ?

So I've installed a Diamondback tonneau on the back of my truck and I'm working to install Front Runner rails with load bars on the Diamondback to support a RTT.  This should provide flexibility, as the load bars can be used for other purposes, or simply removed.  Just search for Diamondback and RTT and you should see some Tacoma examples.

The only downside with the Front Runner setup is the load bars (the ones that run side-to-side of the bed) max out at 56" wide.  Ideally, I think I want the load bars to be 62+" wide.  I believe they have racks that are wider and will fit our trucks.

As far as other options. take a look at Nuthouse Industries or KB VooDoo.

Awesome, thanks for the info here!

I was looking for this one for my 19 high country. Still waiting on a follow up from the manufacturer to see if they will make it for the silverado.

I still like Yakima. Only way to “nicely” get a rack on top of my tonneau cover. Retrax with the rack.

Now, stage two coming this summer, is a roof top tent on a second set of feet between the two tall towers. I will be able to have the kayaks on the rack plus a roof top tent under. Pretty excited about the camping opportunities with this set up, and still with locking storage in the bed

Yes it’s expensive, but fabbing one out of aluminum would be a pain in the ass.

Been looking at this one for a while now.  My planned setup would be this rack with a revolver x4 tonneau mounted underneath that I can still open.  Looking to be able to mount a fishing rod tube over the cab with it as needed, but want to be able to pull the whole setup off when I don't need it.  Possibly a roof-top tent in the future, though I'm no "overlander"...

They make a bunch of other accessories for the F150(and Taco's, of course?), but unfortunately haven't ventured into GM territory much yet.

Best part, I think the price is quite reasonable @$750

Great find! $750 is much more reasonable than I have been able to find thus far. Thanks!
