I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 Crew Cab Elevation with the 3.0 Diesel and really love this truck. So far I have added the Katzkin Leather and AMP Power steps.I really want to install a 6” BDS kit on this thing but sounds like that kit might not be available for a few more months. Looks like they need to redesign the front skid plate and add a Transmission line drop bracket...so I have been looking at other options.

I have looked at the 3.5” UCA / Coil Over kits  (CST, ICON,FABTECH & RC) but really leaning towards the 6” kit. What I like about these kits is not having the LARGE rear blocks and having coil overs right out the gate. I do plan to upgrade the 6” kit later on to coil overs...just not right away. O...I did speak to FOX and they will be releasing a 2.5 series front Coil Over that will allow 3.5” of lift in the front for this truck very soon...Just need to add new UCA and rear block or spring. As I’m writing this I’m wondering if this 3.5” systems is actually a better preforming kit?  Anyway...

Their are three company's that say the kit will work...does anyone have any experience with these lifts?

Or...just wait for the BDS kit because they really are that great of a kit?

my understanding on GMC is that a 4 inch lift is only good for a 33 inch tire.

which you currently already have with the 20s

and that is 6 inch lift is required for the 35 because of the wheel well size.

many GMC owners are also commenting on the actual width left to right of the truck in the wheel well is very narrow.

I have the same truck, how much did the katzkins cost?? Had the truck 3 weeks and it's pretty clear it's gonna need leather.

@Topgear1224 - Thank you...For the leather  I ordered directly from Katzkin and they installed for $1395. My work car is a 2020 GMC Yukon with factory leather...the Katzkin is better quality leather for sure.

Well...I got tired of waiting on BDS and went another direction. FOX just released some new 2.5" Coilovers that raise the front about 3.5". I was able to get my hands on a pair thanks to Dirt Kings in San Diego. I did not want that cali lean so I also added a Deaver mini pack to the rear for 1.5"-2" of rear lift. The new FOX 2.5" rears are not available yet so just installed the 2.0 ones for now. I will say this...the ride is amazing...sucks up the bumps for sure. I'm not a hard core off road guy...but this thing rides sweet! I thought the factory 20" wheels rode kinda rough...and that is gone now. I am debating on wheels and tires but will have those in the next week or so I hope. I would love to run a 35" but may go with a 34x11.50 to reduce the required trimming. Anyway...Hope this helps others

Well...picked up some wheels and tires.
18x9  0 offset 5” BS

BFG KO2 35/12.50/18

had to do some trimming but nothing rubs now. Really wanted 295/70R18 but the tire I wanted was not available...so they gave me a deal on these.

Truck looks great, and I can image it rides like a dream.  I really like those Deavers, but I need an overload for towing

I thought about that as well..When I called Denver they said they can custom make a leaf pack that is suitable for towing as well. I’m just not towing anything right now.

I've been told that there maybe a fuel line issue with the 3.5 lift by RC did you have any problems? How do you find the ride with the Foxes and how much was fuel mileage affected with the bigger rubber. Thanks in advance

dealer says it’s not compatible with the 3.0 but the site states that the steel leaf springs are required.

The dealer is misinformed. I have the 3.0 and my dealer installed the 2" kit. The limitation has nothing to do with whether the vehicle is equiped with the 3.0.  The kit is incompatible if the truck is a regular cab, Trail Boss (duh), max trailering,  snow plow prep, or has composite rear leaf springs.  That description on the chevy accessories site is poorly written.  If you have composite leaf springs you can replace them with the steel ones and then add the 2" kit. That is getting really expensive though.   Do a search on this site.  There are plenty of discussions on the 2" kit and composite leaf springs.

Did your 3.0 have the composite springs?  I called another dealer and they were aware of the steel springs that were needed to install the 2”.  Have you had any issues or regrets?

    • The truck is a 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer, 4.3 VIN "W" engine. :cracks knuckles:   On a whim - because I needed a headache - this truck was for sale so I stopped to take a look. Doesn't run. Well, it does, but barely. Long crank, choppy idle, bad misfire(s), it REEKS of fuel. I can DO this..I'm thinking. Diamond in the rough. One owner until last year. A young guy is selling it, he bought it 6 months ago. It stranded him more than once, he's got a newborn. It was in the shop 10 days ago and he "thinks" they said it needs a new fuel injection system. He can't put any more money into it, needs it gone. I was thinking of upgrading my Macbook, which is a total want, not a need. For less than the price of a new laptop I can have fun for months. I'm taking this truck home.   Some parts, a wash, maybe a set of tires, and I can have a few months of fun and then turn it for beer money (or the next project).   Sure enough, there's a work order from a shop last week in the INCHES of paperwork on this truck dating back to when the first owner bought it. They put a new distributor in it, fuel injection work describes basically opening the plenum and putting it back together. He said he couldn't afford any more work so he had them button it up and that's when he put it up for sale.   I'm not well versed in 4.3. I did discover 1995 uses the 1992-1995 SCPI "Spider" injector which is riddled with issues from splitting lines, clogged or cracked poppet valves and plastic spider legs that crumble over time. Cool. I'll just order me a ne---. Oh, the auto parts store doesn't have it? Rock Auto doesn't have it. eBay? $$$$$$ for used. These are UNAVAILABLE period end of story unless you know "a guy" who's still got one in a box somewhere.   Can't upgrade to the '96-'04 injector, it's a different plenum, wiring/pinout and sensor config.   There are a few kinda "know a guy" -guy rebuild services for these injectors out there for about $350. Okay, Okay... I'd like to know if anyone has used them? Anyone got a lead on these crappy 92-95 spiders?   I also don't want to send MY spider to Narnia and back without knowing if that's truly the problem. I guess I'll need to pull apart the plenum and do some digging.   I was also thrown for a loop. This 1995 model year truck has an OBD-II connector. The interface is decidedly not OBD-II. I can read and reset trouble codes and view live data, but there's not a lot of data. Like misfire count and on what cylinder, that's not there. It's OBD-1.5.   Nothing is ever easy. Now it makes sense why this guy wanted to disappear this thing for cheap. I'm guessing the shop told him the injector is toast, the part is unobtainable and they're not going to sort sending the thing to a rebuild service, and the kid likely can't be without a working car for 3 weeks even if they'd facilitate that.   Experience with these early SCPI's? Stories? Things to check? Sympathy? (..Nah...)   This can sit until I sort it. But I haven't had a problem with a vehicle I couldn't easily solve in a long time.
    • I have four that read by the dash 8 to 10% better than miles/pump calculations and I have one that is spot on.
    • The average lifespan of automobiles on the road is increasing - here's why
    • Typically it is the Torque Converter, I have a 2.7L Trail Boss and between 25-65 MPH at 1300-1500 rpms under light throttle it has a shudder which I almost consider and bobble or a gargle sound. They replaced my TC but it did not help any, others say it has fixed their issues. It has been back twice now with no fix after.
    • Still $3.01 with even more places at this price
