Rear differential fluid on a 2015 Chevy Silverado

I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. I changed my rear differential and put three quarts in, but still wasnt at the center plug in the middle to pour out. Do I need to add more until it get to the top of it?

A 1500 should not take 3 qts in the rear. Did you have it on level ground?  Must be level to fill with accurate amount!

Does the truck have the NHT max towing option?

9.5" rg rear diff is 2.75 qts (w/NHT)

8.6" rg rear diff is 2.1 qts

Is it the original diff cover?  Non-oem covers are hit and miss as to whether they have the fill port at the right level.

Yeah its the stock cover

Was the cover on?

Sorry, I had to. Unless it is an aftermarket cover or was angled a bunch it shouldn't take over 3qts.

Hope you get it figured out, mine was easy to change (though I really with they would add a drain plug like on the GTO, so much easier!).

I had it level. Im pretty sure its the 9.5. Is it suppose to drain out of the center fill cap when its completely filled?
