Range AFM disabler

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a Range AFM disabler? I have a 2014 z71 with a 5.3L its got 120K miles on it, I do moderate towing, boat, tractor, occasional car. And I don't like that the truck drops down to V4 I can fell it dragging. Has anyone used one and are they worth the investment?

Yes I use the Range Technology AFM disabler , I recommend this to anyone that has a truck like ours, I tow my boat and camper with my truck and do a fair bit of highway driving, I love it worth the money! Fuel economy goes up too!

Mileage goes up? I figured I’d lose some mileage. I drive mostly highway miles and around the farm.

I used a tuner to disable mine but that's beside the point here. My fuel mileage is basically the same in the city with my short commutes and I can still get 21-22 with ease on the freeway. In the right situations on some stretches of road getting 23-26mpg even with it off can happen. All in all I didn't notice any real change in freeway mileage.

I have one for sale. $75

I just got my truck tuned so I don't need it anymore.

Also my gas mileage actually went up a little bit after I started using it.

No. Mine will sometimes sit for a week or more with the range plugged in even in cold weather. It has always started when needed. I did see where some with older firmware would cause battery drain but newest firmware is gtg.

I returned mine, it made the transmission slam harder than it does normally and it blocked all the OnStar diagnostics. 2016 GMC Sierra SLT 4X4 Crew Cab.

Did you buy it used? Is it updated to the latest firmware?
