All,

My wife and kids are always looking for gift ideas for Fathers Day.  I realize there are a zillion options and it all depends on taste, but what are some good accessories under $100 that could be given as a gift?  I just got my truck last fall and pretty much only have Husky Liners and a Tonneau, so everything else is fair game.

Thanks in advance

Depending what package you have, you could convert some of your lights to LED's. I've got the LTZ, so I'll be converting my front turn signals and reverse lamps to LED lights. The brand is LasFit, and seem to have good reviews. Turn signals and reverse lamps are about ~$60. Obviously if you have the High Country then I believe you're already all set, ha.

Just food for thought.

I have the LTZ too.  I've already done the license plate and reverse lights.  What light did you use for the front turn signals?

So, not sure how accurate they are, but Amazon says this will not work in my truck.

When I look up what bulb to use for that on the pinned post, it shows Turn Signal/Marker - W21/5WLL, this bulb is a WY21W.  Is that the same thing?  Sorry for the ignorance, just double checking.

Nah, all good, sir. Amazon says the same thing for mine, but their(LasFit) YouTube video uses that model bulb and their website listed that same part number as well. You can double check their website for accuracy, but Amazon is for sure cheaper.

I’ve had the Lasfits in front for probably a year now. Great, durable lights. You get what you pay for.

Other inexpensive ideas...splash guards, bowtie puddle lamps, tailgate letter inlay, hitch cover, stubby antenna, black grill bowtie if you have a gold one, etc etc.

Thanks for the help.

I found this one too, pretty sure its the same bulb you shared. Check out the text on the side of the box, "for off road use only". Tempted to try it for an extra $25 ???

Thanks for the input.

I looked on the GM website and saw p/n's 84133640 and 84293092.  Besides price, what is the difference between these two? I could have overlooked it, but they look identical, except for the $30 price difference.

Thanks again.

84293092 is the tiny little one for the corner of the grill on WT & Custom trims. Since you have an LTZ, you need the bigger, more expensive one (84133640).

Thanks. I filtered the results to only show items for my truck and it brought back both emblems. I will add this to the list.

Console organizer. The GM Accessories one is right around $50 if I'm remembering right.

Bed rail caps and console organizers. I just picked an organizer and the caps myself off Amazon.

I added these to my list.  I haven't looked at the front yet, but I assume installation is similar to the rear?  2 screws and the assembly pops right out?  I don't really want to take off 2 or 3 other things to complete the task.....primarily cause I would probably break something in the process.

    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
    • I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!
    • I haven't seen inventory recovery from COVID.    In the few random times I 'build my own' truck or SUV, no one has the exact one I want.   GM has been working to lower incentives too for a long time.    A $500 incentive isn't getting me off the couch to go truck shopping.
