Yes I'm replying to a old post, but found another option for CAI , unfortunately SB filters haven't released it just yet but looks like a nice option for someone wanting one.

I know this post is kind of old but that's the cold air intake I'm going to install on my truck....I've done CAI's on my vehicles in the past.  The only time I've really noticed them is when I put the stock intake back on.  Then it's like, yeah, that really did make a big difference.

Question:

Would a CAI help with towing?

I'm not sure.  It "should" help some but how much I really don't know.  I haven't installed one on my truck yet but I will be in the near future.

Yes, it helps with low end torque. Has anyone tried to just replace the tube and get rid of chamber box? You do get the same extra air flow as the complete aftermarket kits. K&N makes a OEM filter replacement and tube for the 1500. And so does Airaid, they make the Jr. And Airaid makes modular intake tube(MIT) kits for the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and 6.2.
