People do it all the time so do whatever you want.

Some even make pre-runner style trucks that are 2WD.

For sure I’ve seen some nice prerunner builds. And correct me if I’m wrong but I think most if not all prerunners are 2wd.

Why are you lifting it?  If it's for appearance (you like the lifted look, or want to run bigger tires), then it's exactly the same as for 4wd.

If it's for off-roading, then a lift would probably still help, but it's probably more effective to swap to a 4wd truck and then lift that...

It’s mainly just for looks honestly. Especially with our square fenders it’s hard to fit 14s on a level without some serious metal trimming in order to be able to turn fully unlike fords.

Just know it seems like I’m at the gas pump a lot more now since the lift and bigger wheels and tires ?

This is for sure one bada$$ build. I love it man, is it a 5.3 or 6.2?

I would personally be embarrassed to lift a 2WD truck, but do what you like.  Poser for sure.  But then you have all these Brodozers running around that have less off roading capability than stock, so there is that...

But what would be embarrassing about it? The fact that it’s lifted but can’t off-road as much as a 4x4? With that being said it’s possible to off-road with a 2wd. You just have to take it easy and less aggressive than a 4x4 for obvious reasons. But what would be more embarrassing a 2wd truck that “offroads” for fun from time to time or a 4x4 that has never even seen grass?

? 22's on a truck and you'd be embarrassed about lifting a 2wd and he's the poser?

OP, those that mention you don't lift a 2wd buy a truck for the image, don't listen to those people. Many buy 4wd just for 4x4 emblem looks but you know what, most couldn't tell if it was a 4wd or 2wd by looking at it and would need to see the 4wd knob... By all means you can and should lift a 2wd, it is those that buy 4wd with no use for it that are the problem and should be embarrassed. Good on you for getting a 2wd truck knowing you didn't need 4wd, saved a bunch of money and no one is the wiser. Now don't go putting 4wd emblems on it though, saw a 2wd Titan lifted with aftermarket 4wd stickers on it and it was only a 2wd, those people really have problems. Also be happy with the fact a lifted 2wd won't have as many problems or potential for problems as a lifted 4wd because a worn out CV axle is annoying and a failed transfer case or front diff is expensive.

Tyler

Thanks for the detailed response and help. Yeah I wouldn’t put 4x4 emblems that just weird... in my opinion lol. 2wd suits me just fine I don’t “off-road” it but just want to lift it because it sitting higher with bigger wheels and tires is appealing to me. And yeah having a 2wd is cheaper to maintenance  and lifts are a littler cheaper and less problems in the long run.

Good to see the racist comes out of you freely.  My truck looks stock; if you think having a Brodozer looks better, congrats.

Being a Trump fan would be especially embarrassing.  Though Texas seems to be one of his biggest supporting states...

Not at all - if it is functional.  Wheels way past the fenders that just kick up rocks and serve no off road purpose, no.  2WD doing it for looks that will never go off road is the definition of poser.

I support this message! First of all who the f*** says poser. I’d be embarrassed to say some stupid s*** like that! Let’s see what you’re running @Nitrousbird I always love to see people’s vehicles that like to put other peoples ideas down. You better have a f***n show stopper because I’d love to stick my brodozer next to it and see who gets more love. To the OP do EXACTLY what you want to do. Visually there is next to no difference but like Tyler said just don’t stick 4x4 stickers on haha.. if you are doing it for off roading then it will still work just fine for clearance just don’t go bog’n in it unless you like being stuck places lol.. if I have learned 1 thing in all my years of building my friend it is that you will never please everyone so please yourself. When another person starts paying you truck payment then they can offer there opinion but until then their opinion is just like them.. irrelevant! Also.. @Frankielozano214 when the hell you finish your truck brother that s*** looks SO damn good!

Just because ricers love big wings, ugly body kits and other tacky crap doesn't mean it isn't tasteless.  Same goes for Brodozers - you will always find others that like your gaudy ride.  If you want to see a stock looking SLT, I can post a picture.  It's a truck; I need it for towing my boat, Lowes runs, long trips (which typically have the boat behind it) and snowy weather.  Otherwise it stays parked.

I build custom cars for a living I haul sheet metal, square stock, round stock, rec tube, engines, tranny‘s, wheels and tires and a variety of other things in my bed.. actually up until about an hour ago I had a 69 Camaro subframe in the back of it.. I towed an 18 foot toy hauler until just recently because we sold it and I tow and car trailer. Made plenty of “Lowe’s runs” too so I guess mine works just as well as yours and looks a lot better doing it.
