Going through the selling process of my 2019 LT Z71 Texas edition truck and looking to get into a 2020.  Givemethevin is giving me $40,250 for it and I financed for 41K like 14 months ago.

Trying to be around 45K before taxes and fees.  Working on a truck that has everything I want except the safety package.  I am mostly interested in the parking sensors (especially for the front) as I dinged a pole in my 2019.  I swear it came out of nowhere.  Forgive me for creating a new thread as I have seen a few on this already.  I've read them but still not convinced one way or the other.  Seems the sensors can  be buggy in the winter but I live in Texas.  We don't have a winter.  Hardly ever even freezes where I'm at.  Winter tires are literally not even a thing here.  Should I hold out for the safety package?

Just FYI, I am looking for a Northsky Blue 2020 RST Z71 6.2L 10-speed,, with leather, safety, convince I and II.  Bed liner would also be nice but doesn't have to be included.

So the 45K before TTL is a bit of a stretch but I'm there already on one truck without the leather and bed liner.  Haggling over getting the leather added now (katskin).

Anyway any advice would be helpful.

The parking sensors are nice.  I had mine turned off and I backed into a shopping cart some A-hole left behind my truck.  Wound up shoving it into a curb and damaging my tailgate.

The feature I like is the "heads up red alert" and "seat vibrate" when someone slams on the brakes in front of you or pulling a trailer with no brake lights and you are closing to fast.

When I bought my truck I wasn't really interested in the "safety package" but now I like having it for sure.

Yes absolutely a must and for the price option is not all that bad  .

I can live with no sensors in the back but a camera but sensors in the front is a very nice plus.

So for sensors in front and back is well worth is IMO

I will admit the sensors with the seat vibration are absolute must!  I will make sure I always have that option.  But that is me.

You can purchase aftermarket front sensors and 360 camera setups as easily as leather.

I'm probably in the minority but was annoyed by the vibrating seat in the Suburban since roads are not very well-maintained in Mexico and are usually missing lanes.

I'll admit the red thing saved my ass though when a kid on a bicycle jumped in front of me. I suppose it works the same on the Cheyenne, my Cheyenne doesn't have that feature but I don't really miss it. It depends on the price.

Well I've decided I want the safety package.  It's going to cost me a few K more to order a truck optioned out exactly like I want but I suppose it will be worth it.  No trucks out there that fit my criteria.

OEM is definitely the preferred option but aftermarket sensor kits are available.  Aftermarket leather would also not be my first choice on a new truck. ?

Yeah, for that I am just going to order the truck and get it exactly how I want it from the factory.

Great! You will use it everyday and find out just how valuable it is.  Others will ask what is that noise?

Found a red one online.  Has everything I want + sunroof.  8K off, I told the dealer what is there best price.  They gave me 1K more off.  I told them it was the wrong color, they offered me another 1K to forget that it was red.

So at 10,100 off or so, red is looking great!  Best color out there.  LOL it's the tincoat one.

Ha,ha I left with a BLACK one few years ago myself.  I was never going to buy "black" again and swore I my grandmother's grave!  I told him no way you have couple model year left overs one "bare bones" other "fully loaded" not doing black I am out!  I got another 1k off and a "Black" vehicle but seriously Money trumped it and I hated that color!

I ordered my LTZ Crew Cab short box with the LTZ plus package and Z-71 off road and protection package. The LTZ plus package comes with the safety package. Front and rear park assist, lane change alert/blind spot warning, and rear cross traffic warning. That’s all the electronics that I wanted. I test drove a HC with the safety package 2. And I didn’t like the vibrating seat. And the fully automated headlights. This truck is freakin huge compared to my little Corolla. But it’s awesome.

    • Follows the motif on the Sierra EV.  Satin finsh to the lower bumper area, painted above:   Elevation       Denali
    • Not exactly what I was hoping for, but I do like it. I wonder if they'll bring back Smokey Quartz Metallic? 🤔 https://gmauthority.com/blog/2026/06/here-is-the-all-new-2027-gmc-sierra-1500/
    • Whoever greenlighted the work truck matte black front bumpers on every trim but the AT4X should be fired!  I was hoping that was an AI mistake, but just realized they were on every model of the 2027 Silverado too.     Some parts of the interior do look premium, but the Denali Ultimate dashboard looks like an afterthought.  At least they appear to have lost the microfiber the high end Silverado models showed, but the '27 High Country dash looks better than the Denali.
    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.
