Is there a way to get the Infotainment system to read text messages for you?

No, GM removed the Messages app from their infotainment system. Their lousy answer is to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

My truck will read the texts out load and ask me if I want to reply...maybe it has to do with phones your using?

Early builds had the messaging app, I have it as well, but Gm stopped putting the app in the trucks at around 12/18.

Works perfectly in my truck (May 2019 build). It worked when I got the truck then it did an update and I lost it. I had to call gm (special number) to have them put it back.

Yeah, I had the same issue, I had to call to have them re-activate it, I was told they stopped putting the App in the truck by their representative, I guess either he told me the wrong date or I heard the wrong date but either way I know they stopped putting the App in the trucks.

I think it was on mine too but was gone from an update before I got to try it.  What number do you call to have it reinstalled?

That was a nice feature on my jeep i miss it on my 2020 sierra. it works with android auto, but i rarely have that running.

I figured they got rid of it because too many guys getting busted when girlfriend texts and wifey is in the passenger seat.

Android Auto stopped playing texts a few weeks ago for me. Just says not safe to play or something.
