I have only had my Custom TB since May. I know when i remote start it right now it blows cold air at full blast. What happens when it its below freezing outside? Do i have to do anything to get it to heat up the car vs blowing cold air? Just keep the knob for temperature on the hot side or does it automatically know somehow? Sorry for the dumb question...

If you go through the settings tab on the screen in your options you were able to set up your remote start. I set mine up for heated steering wheel and the auto setting on high with the vented seats. I just have to change that the windows don't go down when I hit and hold the unlock button because I'm afraid it may be raining when it happens. Just for the mirrors to fold out

I searched through the options and it didn't give me any options under settings about remote start. That was the first place that i looked under the settings on the touch screen.

It’s in there somewhere. On the radio screen, not the dash.

If it's anything like the K2XX trucks it will slowly bring in the fan faster when the coolant temp gets warmer.

I use my remote start everyday in the winter and after 5-8min it's starting to blow semi warm air from the vents.

Just searched through the Radio Screen but nothing about temperature settings or anything. This is it. I thought maybe it would just default to the last setting it was at when you shut the truck off. I cant find anything for a truck without Climate control, heated seats or wheels....

Because it’s under vehicle > climate and air quality

Unfortunately Climate and air quality is not in any of my drop down menus. I searched every section and nothing.. I did find this old posting about it. So maybe this is what happens.

The outside air temp sensor located on the passenger side mirror will dictate the temp your trucks HVAC will start up on. I believe the cold temp is around 40-50 degrees and it will turn the heat on. You will have to let it warm up at least 5 minutes to get some warm air coming from the vents. Also the colder it is outside the longer this process will take.

According to the manual it’s actually the solar sensor on the dash. So don’t cover it with a cap or papers or whatever.

Custom trim trucks have the "manual" HVAC system.  Here are the operating parameters for it during a remote start event.

Quote

#PIT5736: Manual HVAC Settings During a Remote Start - Diagnostic Tip - (Mar 9, 2020)

Correction/Function:

Cold ambient temperature - below 50°F (10°C):

Mode = Defrost

Temperature = Full Hot

Blower = 8

Recirculation = Fresh Air

A/C compressor = Only commanded on if conditions allow compressor engagement.

Hot ambient temperature - above 59°F (15°C):

Mode = Panel Vents

Temperature = Full Cold

Blower =  8

Recirculation = Recirculate

A/C compressor = On

Mid ambient temperature - anything in between "cold" and "hot" ambient temperature values that are listed above:

Mode = Last known setting

Temperature = Last known setting

Blower =  Last known setting

Recirculation = Last known setting

A/C compressor = Last known setting

Note: On transition to ignition on following an RVS event, the HVAC settings will return to last known settings.

Just fyi, you can unlock doors and unfold mirrors without opening windows, you just don't hold unlock as long.

It will heat/cool depending on outside temp.  I believe it always is full fan speed, just varies the temp as mentioned above.
