Once and for all... is the 2020 2500 AT4 Lifted 2”??

The New T1 trucks sit higher then the K2 but i dont think the AT4 has a lift

only on 1500s.....the std 2500s sit pretty friggen tall stock as it is....mine does and i dont have AT4

All ride heights are the same on HDs.  The only difference between models is tire size.

FWIW. the 2500's are taller than both standard and (factory) lifted 1500's.

Its a shame though because when you call something AT4 you should at the very least give it an OPTIONAL 1 in lift and more aggressive tires . 

The Ford Stupid Duty Tremor has been a big success for them so far

You can now add Mud Terrain tires to an HD AT4 (and only to an AT4)

How the heck do these things even get started? Nowhere, ever, has it been said the AT4HD has a higher ride hight. Same shocks, springs, suspension.

I've actually seen a YouTube video of a salesman showcasing a new 2500 AT4 and mentioned that it had the extra lift in the front. As an AT4 owner, I knew it was BS, but it just goes to show exactly how clueless sales people are about the product they are selling.

Actually looking forward to someone testing the AT4 with these new tires. It has more sidewall correct ? ( meaning a little taller tire)

The new(er) style tire codes make that easier to figure out -(- but you have to decide that metric system is OK ) 

 

One inch is exactly 25.4 mm if you want to convert in british units

 

First 3 numbers are how wide the tire is in millimeters.  275 / 25.4 = 10.8 inches

next 2 are the 'aspect ratio', the ratio  between sidewall height and tire width -  so the QG3 sidewall height will be 70% of the width

 

275 x 0.70 = 192mm  (7.6")   

 

Last number is the diameter of the rim in inches.  

 

What GM has been doing recently with factory tire sizes is using shorter sidewall tires on the bigger diameter wheels -- end result is that the overall tire diameter doesn't change a lot. 

 

In order to know if the overall tire is taller it is necessary to do the calcs or check the charts.  

 

Charts are easier

 

For 2500 AT4 and SLT the standard tire is QF6    Tires, LT275/70R18E all-terrain, blackwall -- same size as the QG3

20" rims are available with QF9  Tires, LT275/65R20 all-terrain, blackwall

In this case the comparison shows the 20 is a taller tire overall at 34.1 vs 33.2, but the 18 has taller sidewall 7.6, vs 7.0"

 

Tiresize dot com says that at 60mph, and the speedo correct for an 18", the actual speed would be 61.6 with the 20".

 

I have no idea what tire size (how many revolutions per miles) GM uses for speedo calibration.

Maybe the could split the difference??

Maybe they calibrate the speed so the tallest tire is correct and for all others the actual speed is less than indicated?
