Where do you stash a pistol in your trucks?

Well, this is a privately run, presumably for-profit website, which gets to set the rules for what content they want on their website.

 

If you don't like their rules, you can:

-find another website that allows you to express yourself in the way you want to

-create your own website, perhaps similar to this site, and work to get other, likeminded people to join it and both discuss trucks and your political views.

Sorry to pull up an old thread but has anyone mounted to the inside or bottom of their center console?  I just got the Vara Reach II (www.varasafety.com) and I also bought the vehicle mount.  The vehicle mount gets installed under the rail for the seat slider and keeps the holster near your right knee in the open.  I would really like to install this inside the console to keep it out of sight.

 

Edit: Damn I haven't been on this site in years...  I haven't had the white GMC for about 6 years.  This is like visiting your old neighborhood!

When I am out, mine is on me. Guess that is as good as place as any when Im in my truck.

I keep my primary carry firearm with me at all times.  As a military spouse I often end up in states that won't issue a permit to me because I'm not a resident of that state (violation of 14th Amendment???).  So, I've resorted to what others have stated -- concealed means concealed.  When living in Illinois I found a loophole in the law and switched from concealed carry in my vehicle to "transport mode" at work.  You don't need a permit to carry a firearm at work.  It's in the FOID Card Act.  So, before getting out of my vehicle I'd put my firearm into my laptop bag and take my laptop bag into work with me.

 

The other idea is to wear looser clothing so you don't "print" your firearm.

 

More than 80% of mass shootings happen in areas where firearms possession is prohihited.  I'd rather lose my job than my life.  Jobs are replaceable.  Civil Rights don't stop at the door.  The 2nd Amendment is clear.  The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.  That law applies to all persons and places.  And, before anybody jumps in and tries claim that is only applicable to the militia (which isn't the military), please refer to federal statute 10 USC 246 -- the American People are the militia.  We are defined as Unorganized Militia.

Always wondered how registering for the draft could be legal if we weren't already considered a militia.

The draft is for military service, not militia.  The Commander In Chief for the militia is the state governor, not the US president.  Currently, a draft isn't legal, but that doesn't mean Congress can't change that.

I hate to bump a very old topic but if you need a much less conspicuous location than has been mentioned I found a solution that has worked well for 3+ years. 
If you have the carpeted factory storage under your rear seat you may want to look under it. It is held in with two screws (everyone should carry a screwdriver in a truck) and there is plenty of room for an un-scoped long gun, a couple full size pistols, and a couple boxes of ammo. At least that’s what I’ve been told .

The only time a gun gets left in my vehicle is when I'm traveling to and from a hunting location, and in that situation its a rifle or shotgun under the rear seat.  Otherwise, any firearm I am transporting is on my possession at all times.  I don't want a thief to peek inside my vehicle, see a mounted holster and break my window thinking "hey, this guys obviously has firearms, what are the odds there might be one in a console of glove box?".  I know, highly unlikely scenario, but I don't want to give anybody a reason to break into my vehicle.
