On the driver side the CV axle is not completely flush into the front diff compared to the passenger side.   Is this any issue?   Is it normal?

I just upgraded the truck with the GM 2” lift kit.  Dealer installed.

Drives fine.  No horizontal movement when I tried to move it.

Don’t want to go to the dealer if I don’t have to.

I might be wrong but that looks like the retaining ring which should be seated deeper?

Imo, it doesn't look right, but I'm not expert. If offer to take a look at my truck, but it windy, raining, and in the 40s outside. My garage is too small to fit my truck into.

Take it back.  That is not engaged all the way.  The tag has the correct # on it so it is the TB CV shaft.

Ok, will do.  Will I need a realignment done again afterwards?

Shouldn't but have them check everything out anyways.

So brought the truck in.  Had them re-seat the CV axle properly.  Not thinking to check at the dealer.  I came home, crawled underneath to do my usually rust prevention touch ups around the frame where the pads go.  Noticed the CV axle looked in the same state.   Called them up.  They said they needed to order a new snap ring.  5-10 days ships from the US.

Can it be something as simple as a bad snap ring or can it be a bigger issue?

Yes it can be simple as a bad clip. If that doesn't work they could end up replacing the entire cv axle.
