New trucks awaiting microchips

This is a few miles from the Fort Wayne factory. A new truckload every few hours. Surrounded by farmers fields so I’m sure rodents won’t be an issue.

About 1200 or so trucks there, so at 50K each thats $60 Million.

When i look at this  (I really do not want it to happen) But  i cant help to think about the Hail storm we had a few weeks back...  OUCH....  I May loose sleep over this.

Maybe they are headed to Ontario Canada.  We are short of trucks up here.  I just traded a 2018 Silverado for an 2021 GMC Elevation and I didn't have alot to choose from.

That orange and white smokestack in the background is the factory. They have stored some before at an empty hanger and there is a lot of them in the lots at the factory.

Some time ago I was looking at a Google Earth view of the Kentucky Speedway and I was surprised to see their parking lots full of new Ford p/u's, I would assume from Ford's Louisville assembly plant. So GM is not the only one to store vehicles in this manner. I seem to remember reading about a lot of new vehicles being flooded at a Tampa Bay/St. Pete area airport parking lots by an unexpected storm.

There was an article a few months ago that Ford built the new version 21's before their testing was done. They built them and parked them till the testing got done so they could keep the plants going while that happened. Then once the testing was done the plan was to update the software on these trucks and ship them. There were pics in the article of the lots around the Detroit airport full of new trucks.
