Multiflex Tailgate on Trail Boss

I have the 2021 Trail Boss with the Multi-Pro tailgate and NOBODY makes a hard Tonneau cover for it. LEER is supposedly working on one. Talked to a dealer last week about the GM offered covers and was told that theirs would not work on the Multi-Pro tailgate. The reason was with the raised section of the cover in the drop down section of the gate. It would be so easy to make a replacement cover for the center section of the tailgate without the raised section and be able to use a cover made for a  crew cab truck.

I’ve definitely seen hard tonneaus that work with the gmc multipro which is the same as the the Chevy multiflex to my knowledge. (Sorry just realized you weren’t talking about a hard folding or rolling tonneau.  I haven’t looked for those)…edited

Looking at that little spoiler (raised section) it looks identical to the one on my current regular 2020 tailgate. I just can’t find a multiflex around to check out and see. ARE has the multiflex on their website selector as an option so they are obviously aware of it. I sent them an email this weekend and I’ll call tomorrow to get more details on compatibility.

I have the GMC accessory one on my 2021, fits perfectly.

I use a RetraxOne with a multipro.

Combo works fine.

Either entire tailgate or just the small section can be opened/closed without opening the cover

-- and cover can be opened/closed without opening the tailgate.

I have a trailer that has a jack that cannot be tipped down.

It is tall enough that an open tailgate will hit the jack handle.

When trailer is connected, I often use the small section to access the bed without risking the tailgate hitting the jack.

The caution about not using ramps on the small section isn't as inconvenient as it at first sounds.

The 'window' in the tailgate same width as space between the wheelwells  (~50"), so if it fits between the wheelwells it can be moved through the opening in the tailgate.
