While I have the newer gen 6.2 I am wondering how the older 6.2 are doing in terms of intake valves after some miles. Occasionally have a rougher idle but haven’t taken manifold off and looked inside.

any buildup on these motors ?

The 5.3's are and 6.2's are the same design, so doesn't matter too much who comments here.

I made a thread about mine at 104k miles, they looked fine. I don't run a catch can or anything either.

Average miles at 35%?

I'll guess 5,000. Same place mine is. Let's see what he says. I like conformation. 😉

Good info as I am on the edge of catch can or not, this helps but does anyone/everyone have a slighty rough idle at stop lights occasionally?

I thought that the catch can gurus are saying the device will cure this issue?

Oh yeah 2020 with a 6.2 liter

Thanks

That is caused by a ridiculously low idle speed. Tune it. Even 50 rpm helps.

Robby,

Rough idle, I would use a fuel system cleaner regularly. How often is your decision.  One with PEA. Like Gumout. Only Top Tier gas.

Catch can also a personnel decision. I run one on my 12. Why not?

If you have an l87 you will have 0 issues with carbon buildup.

How do you figure out the l87 thing?

L87 doesn't have a pcv valve coming from the valley (l86 does). Crank case pressure exits solely through the drivers side valve cover which does a damn good job of stoping liquid from entering the intake tract.

Isn't it not tuneable until I drop the 4k to get ecu swap?
