Power Running Boards Addition

I'm sure it's been brought up before, so sorry in advance, but I bought an RST without power running boards and I'm interested in adding them.  Has anyone done it and what brand do you recommend.  Feel free to point me to a thread that already talks about it.  Does the previous body style boards work?

+2 on the Amp Research power steps.   I have bedliner material sprayed on my rocker panels,  so I couldn't do the LEDs.  I peeled out the LED wires from the harness,  so install was super clean.   Also ran the OBD2 wires through the firewall rather than penetrate the floorpan plug.

The HD trucks can be order with factory retractable running boards. I wonder why that’s not an option for us?

I installed the Amp Research Power Steps as well.  While they were easy to install and they work well, honestly, I'm a little disappointed in them.  When they retract, they don't tuck up closely underneath the truck.  I've seen them installed on Fords & Rams, and on those models they tuck up neatly under the rocker panel so that it's almost hard to tell where the truck stops and the step starts.
