After a bout of cold weather I noticed dime to nickel sized dents above the doors and down the top of the bed on both sides. There has to be at least 100. Dealership thought it was a hail storm but we didn’t have one and the rest of the truck is perfect. Its as if they were spontaneously appearing. Has anyone experienced something similar?

My thought is merely a guess, but I'll share it anyways.  Varying rates of expansion and contraction of different metals.  One part could be steel.  The other part could be aluminum.  The difference might cause the rippling?

Have you cleared snow or ice off your truck lately? possibly from what ever tool you used?

The photo is not real clear. But what I can see are fairly uniform dents. For sure, not hail damage. My opinion, for what it's worth, someone played whack a mole. Anyone pissed off at you? Where do you park your truck?

I agree the cause is most likely vandalism.  Time to talk to your insurance agent about filing a claim (i would assume under your comprehensive fire & theft coverage).
