The HUD was on a ltz I test drove before buying my TB. I could still see it but it seemed washed out. I wasn't in it long enough to play with the height adjustment. It is a great feature and I loved it on the 1998 Grand prix GTP I had back in the day. The only thing is when it was there I never looked at the guages. My thought was with these new screens... I would rather focus on them, than the HUD.

Fair enough.

Otoh, with todays vehicles the ecm is already watching anything the vehicle has a sensor on, and is already prepared to derate if necessary and to notify the operator when appropriate.

Way different than it was prior to computers and electronic everything.

I guess I may be the only one.  But I hate the new interior...at least from the pictures and videos I've seen.  Why?

1.  I think the "mine is bigger" contest between manufacturers as far as screen size goes has gotten way out of hand.  I worked in IT for 25 years before I retired, so I'm someone who likes technology.  As far as the monitor that sits on my desk, the bigger the better and the more the better...but not in my vehicles.  They are just too distracting.  Besides, touch screens just don't work well with gloves on and one of the main reasons I own a truck is feeding my snowmobile habit.  That means being out in the Minnesota winter a lot.  I want my physical buttons and knobs.

2.  The knobs to the left of the steering wheel have been relocated to be lower down and parallel to the floor rather than vertical.  This is how it was in my 2019 GMC Canyon.  It may be because I'm short and have the steering wheel pulled down low, but for me the steering wheel blocked my view of the knobs in the Canyon.  I had to use them by feel while driving.  This meant I was frequently putting it in 4WD when I was actually trying to turn the lights on. ;(

3.  I actually like the shifter on the steering column.  Not for the shifter itself but because that gives me lots of space for my stuff in the console area (I have the bucket seats in my Sierra SLT).  On the refresh, the shifter takes up some of that space and the cup holders are rotated to be parallel to the drive shaft, further limiting space.

Other things:

1. On the discussion above about HUD's, I have one in my 2014 Corvette and for me, sunglasses really do make it next to useless.  Once again, I'm short (ish) so It may be that I have a bad angle on it.  But no amount of adjusting makes it work for me when wearing sunglasses (90% of the time when driving).

2.  Sunroof?  Most of the cars we have had in recent years had them and we almost never used them.  We only had them because they were part of some option package we had to take to get some other feature we wanted.

3. Very happy with the truck I have so no reason to look for something else.

Just my opinions

PS:  There is way to much of the cool stuff they advertise that you can only get in a Denali/High Country!

So I built a white ZR2 with every option along with tonneau cover, multi-pro tailgate, under seat storage, and running boards.  The total was $72,710!!!  I added the GM performance exhaust for $1399 but it didn’t add to the total cost. My question is, and I asked my dealership, does the exhaust already come standard on the ZR2???  I’m thinking possibly since it added it but not to total cost.  Would be really interested in knowing.

here is a pic. Bad@$$ looking truck.

I’m surprised at that price. My brother buys loaded 3/4 ton 4WD Ford diesels for work. There running just north of that price. The problem of course there’s non around. He’s probably going to order.

I am asking myself the same. I absolutely love the glacier blue ZR2. I stopped by my go to Chevy dealership yesterday and built one with the salesman and he had my 2020 LTZ crew cab appraised at $55,000 which is $7,500 more than what I paid for it. And he told me delivery will probably be July-September. Now my wife is going to think I’ve completely lost my mind when I tell her how sexy the new blue truck will look in the driveway.

I think it's safe to say the current 6.2 is most likely underrated! There were significant improvements made from the previous generation and somehow the HP and TQ ratings stayed the same🤔

My 2019 RST has buttons to unlock the rear doors on the outside, the 2020 has only the front two doors, not the rear two doors. And the chip shortage forced them to take out temperature readouts in the air conditioner in some models. I don't want to find out what I'll be missing for 2022. I ordered a new 2022 F-150 (because I want the 7.2kW charger, Chevy doesn't have that) and I have explicit instructions NOT to replace anything, I don't want credit for missing components.

    • My 2015 1500 LTZ Silverado suddenly won't go into 4 x 4 low. It will go into 4 x 4 high.
    • Yep, just a quick reference point.    My main point being I’d do a thousand other things before I’d pay 10k for a transmission.    Speaking in ignorance cause I don’t look at these trucks, what is it worth? 20k?
    • I think users are going to want to pick their monitored parameters, which parameters they want to see first.    It should probably start with baseline at a minimum and adjust to learned, but be able to overlay baseline for comparison.   A simple severity level would be able to determine what type of alerting is appropriate or user selectable.    Why not use the OBD port though?   I think a phone connection would be a good idea, push notifications type deal.   Number 1 issue is having data is useless if you don’t know what the data should be under normal conditions.
    • I thought I would use your thread and add to it as I just did my first longer drive with my truck in the last couple of days. I drove from the Grande Prairie area of Alberta down to Edmonton and most of where I drove in the city was the ring road so fairly free flowing but a bit of stop and go as well in the city. Stayed the night and returned home and not too many stops along the way each way but every restart and certainly every cold start sets it back for fuel mileage. Why I say that is I see some people will cherry pick a fuel mileage leg after the vehicle had been warmed up driveline wise before hand and its a forgiving ( easy rolling drive leg for example ) and call that their fuel mileage which can give a false perception of reality. I was not heavily loaded at all but never the less the flip bak cover, rubber bed mat, various tools etc and extra jerry cans of fuel all way up to a few hundred pounds of dead weight so its not an empty truck. The cold inflation tire pressures are set more near the freezing point so once they are warmed up driving I was showing 45 front and over 40 rear and realize high inflation pressures would help a little in fuel mileage but certainly not the ride on our crap sections of highway. The weather was good so was not raining as that can really drag mileage down, in fact I had a bit of a tail wind on average driving home. Most people on here would never have driven on that freeway to visualize it but its got a fair bit of rolling type of landscape with numerous river valleys. For the most part I had it on cruise set to 62 although kicking it off if I caught it in time before it started down shifting and self braking going down the grades. Most of the more substantial grades its shifting into 7th I believe as 8th just doesn't have it. Total distance round trip was 643 miles and my overall average and I did refuel three times in all, figured out to 17.65 miles per US gallon. My best fuel mileage section refuel within all of this figured out to 18.46 and these are all hand calculated figures. I find if anything that the trucks computer can be over optimistic, sometimes its pretty close but other times its stretching it. On paper persay in theory the truck would have just about made it on fumes for that whole drive without refueling once.    Which made me think of the topic thread of the wonder if these trucks could do 20 mpg and that is a good question, certainly would have to be on an easy going flat highway, no head wind, the right temperature, not packing around a bunch of dead weight and puttering along even slower than I was I would suspect and going steady and not stopping to smell the flowers or take a piss !. It probably is possible but not without effort to attain that with the wind resistance and weight of these trucks. Of course on my drive most people are passing me if they have the power as per loaded highway tractors, never mind a lot of speedy vehicles but the speed limit is 68 and most are at or well over that.
    • Monday looks like a good day for the dealer to test an ac issue. Hopefully it all turns out good.
