So I have a '19 RST with the 5.3 and I have had no issues with the truck and love it. However the new interior has me wanting to upgrade to the refreshed model. I got my truck before the market went crazy so I only owe $23k and have been offered $44k for a trade-in. Do you think it would be a worth-while deal to get the refresh model and move into a 3.0 vs the 5.3?  It has me very tempted but I am not 100% sure if I should or not.

Ever hear the Tulip Wars? Buying when not absolutely necessary in this market...well.....if you like giving money away give it away my way. 😉

I have a '19 RST 5.3 (no problems) and have a '22 refresh Z71 5.3 in Glacier Blue on order.  Excited to get it.

Are you guys trading your old trucks in? If so are they offering good money for them?

I’m waiting for GM to do more than just interior. Need to upgrade powertrain. Kudos to those that want to upgrade but if “WE” as consumers want vehicle prices to “go down” we must not demand them!  I’m waiting 2 years at least. Hopefully something more than just interior is offered.

I get that, I usually wouldn't be looking for at least 5-8 years after getting a new truck. But with having so much positive equity due to the used car market I am thinking about taking advantage of it while I can.

I would just because of the 3.0

But if you could find a cheaper 3.0 than the newest one on the lot then I would do that instead tbh

I absolutly love the new interior. i think GM hit a huge home run there but man i just wish we had a little power bump. And yes i know the 5.3 and 6.2 are plenty enough ( heck Grumpy thinks his 4.3 is a Twin Turbo AMG) but disappointed to see almosdt 10 years later we are still same output.  Having said that . I'm sure i will get a new refresh .

I can see your point. I am in the same boat. I have lots of equity in my HC but for GM to bring that bad@ss interior and not pump up the HP/TQ of both their V8s is head scratching and disappointing.

You also have to consider they are giving you more for yours but they are also charging out the @ss for these new trucks. So you get more for yours and pay more for a new one. It’s your money brother, if you get one congrats, but the interior alone right now won’t sway me away from

my 2019 with only 35k miles on it.

Good luck with your decision.  It’s a tough one no doubt.

Totally and the only reason I’m considering trading up is to get the 3.0 and some other options I skipped out on when I got my ‘19. I’m going to price one out to be built and see what the difference ends up being.

My 2019 was a lease.  I'm not turning it in as a lease.  The dealer is buying it.  After the lease is paid I'm making money.  The "good old price days" 8K-10K off MSRP are gone no matter how long you wait.  Every year the MSRP will go up.
