I think your tire size choice will look too small with it leveled.  IMO

Having done or doing yourself? All the bolded are really easy to do yourself. Might need an extra hand to lift the Retrax into the bed but my 11 year old was able to help with that.

If it's the 6.6 gas I suggest getting a pedal commander. It made a big difference in the way the truck drives, no delay or squishy gas pedal. Just instant throttle response.

I’m curious what your model year is and under what conditions you experience delay or lag in throttle response to the pedal. I have a March 2021 gas truck and have not noticed poor pedal response. Thanks.

Honestly I didn't notice any poor pedal response either.  However, I also bought a pedal commander recently and there is a huge difference in response depending upon what you set it at.

maybe a better way to say it would be more throttle input to get the desired ummph before, no matter the speed. now with my pedal commander set at sport +3 it takes way less throttle input to just drive normal, and if you put it to the floor from a dead stop with traction control off it will boil the tires with ease . it evan seems to take less throttle input to get it to down shift  at speed when you want it to down shift. huge difference in overall driving experience compared to how the stock pedal "feels". and no i dont work for them either .

Just to add to my earlier post. I have run it in race mode -1 setting ( it goes to race mode +4 or five), forgot it was in that mode drove on some just rained on roads with multiple stops and it was damn near a drag car every time you tried to take off at a stop. Borderline dangerous honestly.... It makes these trucks soo much more fun to drive, at least that's my experience. That's why I suggest it to all my buddy's that buy trucks like these. Either way enjoy that new truck OP.

I too switched from  2015 5.3 to a 2022 2500 gasser and I have zero complaints about a delay. My 5.3 on the other hand was horrible. Do the same model truck perform differently?

I too find throttle and brake to be spongy in response (Feb '22 build).  Where it is most noticeable is in slow tight maneuvering, like parking lots.  It feels like the throw is too long, and disconnected from actual truck movement.

I've gotten used to it, and just ride the brake in those situations to help control the trucks movement.

Also noticed that if I pump the brake pedal once, the second brake press is firm and high in the stroke, which helps improve braking preciseness in those slow speed tight maneuvers.

I have no experience with the 2015 generation of the 5.3. My 2004 Yukon XL 5.3 is an early generation throttle by wire and it feels like there’s a little lag in it but only if I look for it.

From what was described above, the posters above seem to be talking about a device that changes the gain of the throttle control (requiring less pedal movement for a given throttle plate movement), but does not affect any actual lag that is in the system. I don’t notice any lag, and personally am fine with the pedal action.

Dealer is doing it as they are a pain to install.

Recently did both the Retrax and steps myself. Steps took 15 minutes to install. Retrax was about 20 min to install. Just needed my kid to help lift it onto the truck.
