The reason they don't let you roll up remotely, is the same reason you can auto-down all 4 from the drivers door with one momentary press, and one momentary touch upward will auto close the front windows but you have to hold the rear window switches up to get them to come up.   It's liability, they don't want you closing the window on something or someone you didn't see.   Which is a little odd, because as many who have installed in-channel vents can attest if the window senses much friction it goes back down, but I'd imagine it's still enough force to do some nasty damage to say a kids finger, or a pets nose/ear.

I don't think I have the big center infotainment button I think that's where the descent control is, though I always thought it was funny that the button is so huge, they could have put 3 buttons there.

The single button pictured above is on the 22 refreshed trucks.

The high trim level 19-22LTDs have it as well. I don't know the rhyme or reason for which trims got it or why.

I assume you mean High Country? My LTZ doesn't have it. Granted, I don't think Id want it either.

My HC has it. Your LTZ doesn’t 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I wonder what technology package it comes under for you to get the “monster “ button?

Must have been a Chevy only thing to? My 20 SLT doesn't have it either but then again I don't have space for a button like that being it's fully loaded X31.

Beats me on the package. I dont have space for anything more. Every button has something. Id assume, Id have to not have something I do to have that one. The far right, super large button on mine is hill descent.

My 20 Denail doesn't have it. But this is due to the buttons taking its place are the Hill Decent, and Running Boards buttons.

Pretty sure it's just a filler feature that gets removed if something more important goes there. (Ex ZR2 and AT4X Lockers)

Noticed on the Refresh the Running Boards and Power Outlet buttons were removed (Boards to screen and Outlets always on now). So now either the Lockers go there, or you get the window roll down as a filler instead of blank buttons.

Interesting…..Power Running  boards are the only option I didn’t get on my HC. Didn’t want them.  Have never liked them. Makes sense though, but my wife and I still can’t get over how large and awkward it is.

Yeah they were standard on mine. Could of managed without. They extend backwards to the bed to help get to it as well as the normal step.

The button is kinda multipurpose. Hold disables them, one push extends them, and another has them go backwards towards the bed. Mainly just use the button to extend them at carwashs since they usually sit covered.

Considering all that button did, can see why they just moved it to the screen for the boards on the Refresh.

100% on the half-ton power running boards.  The look bulky and foolish to me. The HD trucks have nice, slim power running boards that tuck up under rocker panel. I enjoyed those and rather have those or stationary boards instead.

Not for me. They go out after a few years and also don’t product the whole side of your truck from rock chips. After 2-3 years the sides of your truck looks like it’s been sand blasted.

My SS Trailblazer didn’t have running boards or splash guards and it had to go into GM to cover it under their TSP bulletin  rock chip repair.  Never again will I own a truck or SUV with them. Just my 2 cents. Can’t stand rock chips.

Your preference is the standard mount running boards, not automatic? I can see how some people prefer that. Depending on the vehicle, it can also change the appearance/ground clearance aspect. Some look better with running boards and some look like they drag the ground.

Yes. I like my standard boards. They also go length of cab to wheel wells. Make for easy drying off after a good wash.

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
