I have these on my 2021 Sierra Denali Ultimate and had them on my 2017 as well.  NEVER one issue even in winter when they are packed with snow and ice, always work as designed.

does anyone have an update after having the bulletin done? my passenger board fails to deploy about 50% of the time

I have an appointment in the a.m. to "re-learn" mine to see if that fixes the problem. I'll let you know if it works

You better feel lucky, because I've heard they are worse with snow & ice involved. Actually, I have heard of people just removing them and putting fixed boards on instead.

Sorry, not yet as I had to reschedule the appointment. I will say that my boards have hardly done that in a while, been working great!

Have you guys thought about ripping them off and just installing fixed steps? That’s what I would do for sure. Well that’s what I did do because my truck didn’t come with any.

Had my appointment yesterday at local dealership. They ran a scan for codes, made sure eveyrthing was "learned" & up to date but found nothing. The boards have only acted up a couple of times in the past month, and have possibly fixed themselves???? They've been working great for quite some time anyhow.

i have a hunch the dealers are misleading both of you. the bulletin just came out recently. unless your truck rolled off the assembly line fairly recently, i doubt it has the latest bulletin software update.

i will have mine updated when i take my truck in for its first service

Bob were you getting alot of crap up under the actuation components? Sand, snow, ice etc. Hell I could not use these here in Colorado because the rocks, snow, sand, ice etc would jam it up.

No, they've been pretty free of debris. Initially, the tech thought rocks getting in the arms were causing it, but they would act up when completely clean. It's not sending any codes to read, and has been working great for awhile now, so it's hard to diagnose. They're is no reason for the dealership to lie about their findings, especially when they know they'll have to continually deal with it until resolved.

And my truck was just in 2 days ago,  so I'm sure your dealership doesn't have anything newer than that...

Did your dealer follow the bulletin 22-NA-169 (released 8/15/22) and update the software?
