Hello just took delivery of a new 2023 AT4X and of course it was made without the wireless charging. I would like to think that I can go ahead and just order the parts and install it myself. My questions are:

1. Is there a module that needs to be programmed to the truck to get it to work?

2. Can someone point me in the right direction to get the part numbers that I need?

Thanks for any help.

Judging from the fact they are not offering a later retrofit, its likely not a simple plug an play feature that adding a chip will fix.  Parts for new vehicles are in very limited supply. Even if you could add this feature, chances are you could NOT buy the parts to do it.

Check with boost auto parts. I know they make a kit for up to the 22' year.  From what i know the stock charge pads are not strong at all. The aftermarket should have fast charge.

Thanks all.

@elcamino I was thinking that or maybe that they didn't want to pay for the labor for such a minor thing that some people don't care for anyways.

@John F. Thanks I will check them out. I am not sure if it says up to 2022 because of the "Limited" trucks that were at the beginning of the year.

If you're willing to do it yourself, you can always just buy one of any million wireless charging pads and retrofit it yourself. That being said, I don't use wireless charging for a variety of reasons. If you religiously upgrade, you won't be harmed by it. But wireless charging generates a lot of heat and will shorten your battery life over time. I'm not one of those "don't be lazy" people who constantly whines because people enjoy modern conveniences (like some here), but this is one of those that I prefer to just plug up when I get in. I might be one of the few here.

Boost makes some quality stuff. I have the 22 "limited"   the pad goes into the center armrest and looks pretty seemless.( only seen some videos of it) but have ordered a few things from them that work well.

Maybe yes, maybe no... so much we don't know. Tho regardless I feel safer just avoiding ELF.

"Background

Electromagnetic pollution cannot be ignored. Long-term low-dose electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure can cause central nervous system dysfunction without effective prevention.

Conclusions

EMF exposure not only led to depression-like neurobehavioral disorders, but also to gut microbiota imbalance. HA alleviated the depression features caused by EMF exposure. Based on the analysis of gut microbiota associated with serum metabolites, we speculated that gut microbiota might play a vital role in the cross-tolerance provided by HA."

I don't know if I'd want the fast charging one.. it literally cooks my phone!

I have the wireless charger in my 2021 AT4

Over heating doesn't seem to be an issue because GM must have routed the AC through that part of the truck.  When I  pick up the phone it is actually cool.

Issues that I have had is sometimes it doesn't work through my  phone cover. Works very good on my newest phone.

I'm not sure what this has/had to do with what I posted? This was about phone battery health.

Boost doesn't make one yet for the 22-23 refreshed interior yet. It looks like 404parts have a kit but they are sold out.

Based on what they have on their website, its what I was expecting that it will be plug and play and that GM just didn't want to pay the dealers labor to retrofit the charger because it would be too much for such a small non safety feature.

Aren't the interiors the same? I mean besides the dash. The center console should be the same and as long as you have usb or power on the back behind the console it should be exactly the same. https://boostautoparts.com/products/2019-newer-gm-charging

Look under fitment. It shows 22 "refreshed" for GMC and Chevy as available.

there's a vent  duct that blows cool air from below. not sure if its actually air conditioned or just ventilation, but either way, they did take steps to deal with heat.

I've never used my wireless charger either, the location just isn't convenient for me and need to plug in for android auto anyway.

Isn't the cooling just radiant cooling? The duct is actually for the rear console vents for the back seats. Wouldn't it heat up when the heater is on?
