Well, so far my issue is still not solved.  Replacing the wireless module didn't fix the problem.  It's so strange.  When I got the truck from the dealership, I could unlock the truck from distance.  Then I noticed that I couldn't unlock the vehicle any longer with the key fob buttons but I could unlock with the door buttons.  Now that is random if I can unlock with the door handles without getting the remote out of my pocket and going to the back door to unlock. It is a frustrating situation for sure.

I am sorry to hear your issue is still in limbo, unfortunately this sounds so much like the issue I am experiencing as well. Both remotes seem to be working as expected at the moment although I have only been checking occasionally in the garage as I have not driven the truck since returning home from camping. Plan to drive it today... fingers crossed.

Thanks for updating your situation.

Is there any mention of a battery drain on any trucks? I'm having the same issue with my keys as well. Now, there is a parasitic draw that is draining the battery.  I go to pull the fuse for the theft system, there isn't one. It's supposed to be on the driver's side, on the side of the dash.  I have an appointment at our GMC dealer for May 2nd.

Thank you.

I have not experienced a draw on the battery to my knowledge.  But the truck gets used almost daily so I'd think that would keep the battery topped up.  The dealership offered to put in a new body control module but they didn't have faith that was going to fix the issue and is expensive.  GM just accepted my order for production on my new truck so kinda just going to live with it for a couple months I think.

Change the batteries in them.  Push button vehicles kill the fob batteries faster.  2-3 years is typical now for them instead of older keyed ignition vehicles with separate fobs that would go 6-8 years on a battery.  The key is always being talked to now with the antennas in the vehicle and outside the vehicle.

Maybe those that have had the fobs 'quit' have accidentally disabled them.

when this happened to my 2020 i was at the hardware store, no fob detected, so i went in and bought 2 batteries, replace the battery and it worked. later that day when i went to go home same thing so i put the other battery in and it worked until the next morning and it didn't work. i put the first battery in and it worked. i went back to the hardware store and told them the batteries are no good and they replaced them. a week later i have the same problem with both the new batteries. i had to borrow a car from work and go get more batteries, but this time i went to the pharmacy and got the batteries and it has worked no problem for 6 months now. just like the truck needs a good battery so do the fobs

Update - Key fob issue only happens at home. If I get 3 or 4 houses away from my house Fobs work fine for both vehicles. Nothing new at my house. Hmmmm....

Mine started out this way..came back to truck from hardware store visit.  Key fob not detected.  Went in, replaced the battery in key fob.  Same thing.  It would start with phone app, but couldn't drive.  Called a tow truck.  Came back later waiting on tow truck and everything works.  Thought it was a one off.  Then started having truck battery drain.  Got new battery, all seemed fixed for a week.  The back to random key fob not recognized, dead battery.  Took to dealer, of course it's fine the whole week they had it.  Then one day...dead battery.  It was raining.  Then put 2 and 2 together.  I had washed truck the day of first hardware store visit.  Week after being fine, rain.  I started looking for leaks.  First removed drivers door panel as some have reported water intrusion there.  Check all the electrical connections...no water, no corrosion.  Start looking around right after another rain....feel damp carpet by drivers rear door.  Thought the door was leaking.  No leak.  Keep looking...bingo.  Headliner all the way back on passenger side very wet as is rear carpet, but hard to find unless you are looking.  Rear glass leaking. Do a search on it.  Plastic mounting bracket cracks and leaks.  Known problem.  Removed rear spoiler above cab, sealed glass channel and stopped the leak.  My only thought is that the water was shorting out some electrical connection.  I also replaced drivers window switch as some had that fix the battery drain and key fob issue...which I think is related for some.  I would check your truck battery voltage if you are having these keyfob issues.
