The thickness of 1" is what is throwing it off with that SG3. But Pryme, I remember you had a picture in another thread of your SG3 on your dash/pillar and it wasn't too bad. 

 

Edge has been around for a while. Really big in the diesel truck industry. I ran a few of their programmers on LBZ, LLY and older Crummins applications. They make pretty good stuff.

When it’s mounted on the windshield, it’s 2D so it wouldn’t matter if it’s 3” thick you can’t see the thickness. In order for me to take the pic of the side I had to put the camera up over the top of the dash.  I’m sure either one would do the job, SG just does it for half the price
