What rear and what locker are in the new HD's

What is chevy using now for rears in the 2020 and up trucks. Also what locker are they using? Is it still the G80? Thanks

My 2020 has 3:42 gears to go with the 10 speed Allison trans.

 

Not sure what the locker is but it is an auto locking rear. If you have the RPO code I can go see what mine has

I cant say for sure if the Locker is still the Eaton G80 but the entire assembly is still made by American axle and many members here have reported them as low on fluid when new.

All gas use the 11.5" AAM axle, 3.73 ring gear.

 

Diesel 3/4 ton use the 11.5" AAM axle, 3.42 ring gear.

 

All diesel 1 ton use the 12.0" AAM axle, 3.42 gear.  This axle first showed up in Ram spec for the Ram HD in 2019.  AAM is the supplier for Ram HD since 2003.  

 

Locker is the Eaton G80.

It was just stated above. Your truck has an American axle manufacturing 11.5” with the G80 locker.

Here's a recap just in case:

Rpo codes ... 

 

Order guide shows G80 is standard on all except the ZR2 and AT4X

 

Gas gets 3.73

Dmax gets 3.42

 

 

 

ZR2 and AT4X also get the a DSSV suspension package (RPO code ZRX)

 

 

3500's don't get the AT4X or ZR2 trim levels (and AT4 doesn't get the AT4X goodies)

OK so it has the same rear my 2010 had.

Max Trailer Pkg. (RPO #NHT) on my '24 2500HD Denali, includes the 3500HD 12 in. Axel, Spring pack, and 3:42 , Auto Lock Diff., with Duramax.

Wish the Driver Selectable Locking rear was available like the AT4X
