Is the strike going to affect the HD trucks?

Haven’t seen anyone talking about these UAW strikes. Any of them taking place in Flint or Oshowa?

Those plants aren’t actually striking (as of today) but the plants targeted with the latest expansion of the strike will intentionally impact parts supply…so eventually may be an indirect impact.

 

I have an (in-law) family member waiting to get called because he wants some time off so we get updated pretty quickly

The expectation (conjecture) is it’s expanding on Friday again, and to plants that produce more profitable vehicles like the suvs and trucks…makes me glad I’m not still waiting for my order…

The supply chain is being choked down, its just a matter of time before Flint stops production.

I have been wondering the same thing,  I am still waiting on my order.

I will bet that by the end of next week full production will cease. Ongoing work of shipping finished trucks and those in validation will likely continue on some level.

Ford super duty plant shut down. I guess over 8k ppl walked out. Flint next?

Went by there yesterday and things looked pretty normal except for one small lot near Bristol rd and I-75. I suspect they may have moved those trucks due to the proximity to the more visible roads (think picket area) 

I believe this was the staging area for repair jobs

Ordered my truck Oct 5 and hoping I get it January/February timeframe. Don't really want it until after December.

Arlington (Tahoe/Suburban) is the next threat and could make GM squeal. That is, if they care. GM could be secretly loving this. Limited quantity and huge demand has delivered them record average transaction prices and profits.

 

2024 single cab gas HD 4x4 LTs are going for $58k now.

$58k for that? Ugh.

 

I told my wife the 2024 2500 LT we purchased will be the LAST American brand vehicle we purchase until this UAW garbage is gone.

Oshawa is in the clear.  UNIFOR (the Canadian version of the UAW) voted 80.5% yes to their new contract.  20% for production and 25% for skilled trades over the lifetime of three-year agreement, and cost of living adjustment comes back by the end of 2024.

It was a short strike too.  They started Tuedsay last week, voted yes on Sunday.  

 

Hopefully GM can copy/paste this and get the UAW to agree to something.
