Hello Gents,

Been awhile since I've been in the truck market, coming from a 2018 Sierra Denali Ultimate with the 6.2.   I had absolutely no issues with my  previous truck as fa??r as power, comfort and reliability were concerned.  It was a beauty of a truck, really miss it.   I really love the new refresh on the 22 and newer Sierra's especially the interiors.  What I wanted to ask is about the seats.  I've read that many owners of Denali's are complaining that the seats are extremely uncomfortable and very hard rock like especially on longer trips.   How do they compare to the seats in the AT4 ?  Just not sure if there is a cosmetic difference like stitching, colors or is the seat cushion, foam, design and shape different in the AT4 compared to the Denali.  I believe both models are heated and ventilated seats ?

Any opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Joe

They are the same seats unless you go up to the denali ultimate or at4x.  That being said, I owned a 19 denali and now own a 23 high country. The seats are definitely firm, but are better than before. In my 19 I could go about 30 minutes before my butt started hurting and my toes started going a little numb.  In my 23 I don't really have those problems. I still think they aren't as comfortable as other brands, but they are better than before the refresh.

I have 10K miles on my truck, and the majority of those miles are trips that are 5-10 hours of driving each way.  The seats are comfortable for me.  It's not like sitting in a recliner, but also not like sitting on a board.

I had a 21 Denali and now have a 23 Denali.

I find the post refresh seats to be better

Seats in my old '11 Tahoe LTZ were way better than the bleacher seats in my '23 LTZ. My old '99 Yukon had comfy couches in comparison.

Hard seats seem to be the trend in later model GM's. My '20 High Country Traverse has hard seats also.

I am seriously considering putting a buick lacrosse seat in the passenger side for my wife.  way too hard for a trip longer than 30 minutes.

I have a '23 Denali 1500 and the driver seat is incredibly uncomfortable. I had a 2020 Denali before this and never had any problems with the seat at all. My upper left thigh feels like it's sitting on a brick when when I'm driving. I need to figure out how to fix it somehow or I'm not sure how much longer I can drive this truck.

Thanks for all the replies Gents.  I can still remember the deluxe cloth seats (bucket) in my 1998 Sierra 1500 Extened cab with the 3rd door.  Wow...they were phenomenal .  3 hour drive to cottage, no sweat.  6 hr trailering up to Kirkland Lake,ON for a snowmobile trip and always had a smile on my face when I got to my destination.  I'm dying to take out a refresh Denali or AT4 and really experience what some of you are talking about.

Thanks again,

Joe

That's interesting.

I had a '21 (which would be like your '20) Denali and now have a '23.

With both trucks had do a bunch of playing around with front of seat up/down, rear of seat up/down and for course set forward/back and seatback angle.

Once adjusted - I prefer the '23...

Maybe I just did more fussing with this one.

Maybe the seat buzzer thing on left side of yours isn't properly located inside the seat?

A few years back (I think maybe K2 trucks) there were a bunch found to be mislocated. Perhaps get it checked?

I've got a '21 AT4, seats are not very comfortable.  Definitely not as nice as my '11 LTZ, my '10 SLE, or my '04 LT.

I had a '23 LT for a bit (heated, but not ventilated seats) that was much more comfortable than the AT4... I wonder if the ventilated seats reduce the cushioning?

A seat for every butt, a butt for every seat . It takes me at least a year or so ( about 30,000 miles ) before I can break in a seat. Same with boots.

sold my '23 1500 RST because of the seats. That & the Bose $800 stereo sucks, even tried aftermarket speakers. The cabin is 2-3x louder than the Ram Big Horn 1500 w/Level 2 pkg.

Now going thru Lemon case for that Ram lol. Time to try an F150 since the Tundra engines are exploding.

I’m curious if something additional has come up with Toyota engines. Last I’ve read and car shows I’ve listen to. They had some problems with the roll out. Addressed that problem with customers and fixed the problem. Something new?
