I Do Cars LM2 Duramax Teardown

Not sure how many of you watch the Youtube channel I Do Cars, but he landed on a broken LM2 for a teardown.  Some interesting design choices were made it appears for the oil pump, the belt (engine came out at 146k) looked surprisingly okay though.

The oil pump belt is the only thing that looks good!

 

Wonder if the head bolts are a 1 time use?

Just watched video. The presenter thought the cause of failure was oil starvation which seems plausible.

 

Do we have a "low oil" warning system in our 3.0's?

I learned a lot from that video. None of which I will ever use but it was informative.
