Thanks for the heads up, but I checked when I recently put new wheels and tires on approximately 4k miles ago, and the pads had plenty of life left front and rear.  I do A LOT of long distance highway miles though, so that might be why mine last considerably longer than most.

All I do is highway. 1 hour highway driving each day that I work.  I guess you are just getting lucky.  Just don't go be the monitor system.  The biggest kick in the ass with this whole process is they I never heard a single brakes noise.

True, unless you live in the salt belt area.

I live in the rust belt. The rotors GM has been using on the 2014+ trucks have been excellent when it comes to resisting corrosion. Of all the brands I have owned, these have been the best. I wash my truck just a few times all winter and the rotors are still 98% rust-free. Not sure about the performance brakes with brembo calipers though.

I’ve recently been experiencing what I’d call metal grinding noise on my 2020 Silverado TB. It only occurs when I’m going about 10mph and can either be coasting or stepping on the break and going straight and/turning. The noise is appears to be coming from the front.

I’ve uploaded a video here to YouTube and included in the post.  it’s more an audio file but than video  the first noise occurs when I’m coasting at 10 mph and the second noise at about 2 seconds in is when I’m turning the wheel

I just turned over 45k this past weekend. Has anyone had this same issue or know what is causing it? Or if it may be something covered under warranty?

thanks!

Hey everyone,

I’d appreciate some help here.
My 2020 Silverado RST is making the exact same noise after new brakes were installed. My mechanic is saying that the dust shields are not bent. He is leaning toward leaf spring bushings being a possible issue. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

NEW brakes + NEW noise = check the work that was done.

Leaf spring bushings do not grind they clunk.

Hello, I have a 2024 Tahoe High country.  5000 miles and I have a clunking noise on the left rear tire area, it sounds like metal rolling around in a metal can.

Have you made your dealership aware of your Tahoe's noise? Our dealerships are our eyes and ears in the field, and are best equipped to take a look. We would like to assist, and ask that you email us at [email protected] with your VIN, we are looking out for that. By sending us a message, you consent to the information you provide being monitored and recorded by GM or those acting on GM’s behalf, subject to the GM Privacy Statement: https://www.gm.com/privacy-statement.
