Okay Thank You fellas for all the above replies !!  'm assuming MSRP that is on the Factory Window sticker includes the base model and then the options .

#1 Does not include the price of whatever the dealer adds or does to the truck once its on the their lot which would be added to the MRSP . Am  I correct ?

#2  The dealer also adds PDI  and freight etc . Am I correct ?

#3 So you add  #1 and #2 and they tack that on to the MRSP ?

#4 So that's the total price in the dealers eyes ?  I look at that total price and try asking for 3K to 5 K off of that or just off the original MRSP ?

Or I say what is your out the door price on this truck, taxes and everything all in . Then I say nope can do it and ask for 3K to 5K off ?

Thanks for your patience fellas as  its a big purchase for us and we have been out of this  new  truck game for many years

This will be the last truck I buy as I will probably be done driving  in 10 years

Your second scenario would be correct.

dealers find all sorts of cute terms to add junk fees to the price of what they are selling. All you need to care about is the bottom line. The price out the door.

they can call the add ons whatever they want as long as the price out the door is agreed upon by you and the dealer.

So yeah, you can take every line and add them up and work off of that.

Also it’s in your best interest to deal on the price of the truck without talking about how you’re going to pay( they want to get you on the financing if possible they don’t want you paying cash) if you do finance, go though your bank.

dealers will absolutely not give you the best rate they find for you in order to make more money off the financing. Say they get back from the banks a rate of 2.7%(better times) but turn around and tell you they got you 3.1% they will make money off you and you pay more. Go through your financial institution.

Okay Pryme Thank You ! Good information . We have the money to pay cash but.......  Also my wife said we don't plan on divulging about how we are going to pay until we get their  lowest  out the door price , Then say what if we pay cash . Does this sound like a tactic we could use to get a lower price ?

My wife talked to the bank and they said they cant give a better rate than the dealer is offering which was 5.49 %

you dont understand,  they want that 5-6k financing is gonna cost you.....cash isnt king anymore in the auto world.....hasnt been for a long time

it could actually raise the price of a vehicle

they make alot of money on financing which is why they are very competitive

GM Financial beat my credit unions on last 2 trucks.......3.9% when lowest CU was right @ 5.7%

there is no financing incentive on 2024 HDs in states right now that I am aware of, there is on 1500s

PDI isn't a charged item.

Destination freight is on the window sticker.  Final printed MSRP on the sticker includes destination freight charge which is charged by GM on the sticker.

Here's a US window sticker for example I picked from a dealer near my area - GMLBL_PROD_0043 (cnchevy.com)

Right hand column where the pricing is you see total options price, total with options, destination charge, then MSRP before any factory discounts from option packages, and then the final MSRP in BOLD.

Dealership finance offices have two interest rates.  The "buy rate" and the "sell rate"  The buy rate is what the loan costs them from the financial institution.  The sell rate is what they sell it to you for.  So as mentioned above, they offer you a loan at 5% APR, the bank sold the dealership the loan @ 4.5%.  So the dealership is now pocketing 1/2% interest on your purchase.  If you decide to finance, ask them their buy rate on the loan.  With the structure of auto loans nowadays, cash really doesn't matter.

may be different in Canada but here you get a alot of paperwork......contract, disclosures, all DMV stuff, I think there is a PDI sheet but cant remember for sure

but it is good idea to physically walk around the truck to make sure there isn't anything obvious as they either missed, weren't told about or just tried to pass thru....seen  where guys went to pick up their truck and badges were missing, scratches, dents and seen one where it had 2 different headlights installed from factory

any dents or scratches should be noticed b4 driving off lot, rest is under warranty......you basically dont want anything they can say you did it after delivery....

Congrats on your new ride!

I received an inspection checklist on all the new car purchases I’ve made, both GM and Toyota. What you don’t know is whether they really did the work. No way are they cracking open the transmission, transfer case, and differential plugs to check the fluid level, but they still check the box. My 2021 with 2 miles on it had a big dent in the oil filter I noticed the first time I slid under the truck. The dealer apparently never saw it.

Man that sucks JR how the heck would that have happened ? It’s been pissing rain here so have not crawled under the truck yet but will as soon as I can . I thought they would hand me a Inspection check list but no and I should have asked for one .
#1 Would it be recorded somewhere ?

#2 I asked that they check all fluid levels ?

#3 HD requested a Vin Search for any potential recalls , SSB etc. it came back with no issues ?
