OEM Navigation

Tried a specific search here with no luck and can't find anything on the web, except for the rudimentary operations for this app.

 

A few questions: Is there a way to add a Button on the Maps + Navigation screen (like Restaurants, Gas etc) for a user-generated set of locations? As an example, I would like to add a Rest Areas specific button, so whilst driving, I can simply single-click rather than deep dive into the menu. As well, how does one add a location to one of those OEM Location Icons (ie add a restaurant location to the Restaurant Icon list, so when the Restaurant Icon is clicked, the added location will be included)? Or, can I do a single heading under Favourites that will give me a list of such locations, or is this a one-location only?

The OEM NAV is Google maps, so the answer to your questions is no - its not a function supported by Google.  I wouldn't invest much time in the OEM NAV unless you will continue to pay for it after your trial.
