What do you guys use on plastic chrome? I have a 2024 Sierra, and i was laying on some Griots Carnuba paste wax yesterday. Some got on the plastic chrome piece on the grille. I figured, no biggie, wipe it off. It left a weird splotchy finish only where the past was. Everything was clean and cool to the touch.

I have used Eagle One - Nevr-Dull wadding polish in the past and it does great on chrome/plastic chrome.  Just be gentle on the plastic as it is a bit abrasive.

I used Meguiars Quick Wax spray this past weekend and was happy with the results.

Just used Meguiars Quick Wax spray yesterday and today. No residue left on any chrome or black plastic parts. Excellent product.

You should be able to use anything. Wax, ceramic coatings, etc.  I have waxed plastic chrome many times and ceramic after I stopped using wax.    I think I would claybar a inconspicuous spot and wax it to see how it looks.  Makes me think you have some film or something on there.  Do you use automated car washes that might use a protectant?

Plastic chrome typically responds well to wax.

Want to wax my 2024 before winter.  What's a good wax that's easy to apply by hand and rub off?

I thought the same thing. I just got the truck in June, i always hand wash, never take either of my vehicles through a drive thru car wash. I have washed it since i bought and never noticed any weird blemishes on the chrome grille before. Might try the clay bar and see if its a one-off thing.

This is my first go-round with Griots paste Carnuba wax. It went on very easy, and came off just as smooth. I have also used Coollinite 915 paste wax before, have a great shine and lasted quite awhile.

I need to get my new truck buffed and graphene coating put on it in the next 3 or 4 weeks. I have pretty much gave up on wax with the ease of application for DIY cerarmics.

Meguiars Quick Wax spray works excellent. Easy on and off and leaves no residue on plastic or in the cracks.

Turtle wax spray on ceramic is my go to on my fleet. Priced right and easy on / off and it lasts all winter.

While this stuff wont soap up much, wow does it add protection like i have never seen from a wash application. The water sheets off as good if not even better then if i spent the entire day, washing, claying, washing,polishing than  adding wax with a wheel. Sure it doesn't give it that super clean surface that you would get spending 12 hours working on it. But holy cow does water sheet off your vehicle like no-bodys business. I also usually apply this after the wash

when drying it, but it is crazy imo how much protection just the wash adds to the paint.
