From the looks of it not well enough either way! LOL

It`s all good man. We can discuss. That`s what the boards are for. We do have an audience though.😲

It's like eating crawfish without washing and rinsing before boiling!  I see you are from the real part of LA.

Crawfish? Spicy with Budwiser?  It`s still crawfish season now. Get em while they`re here.

I get it. Just can`t figure out why a large corporation like GM can clean all their blocks, crank oil passages, heads, etc except one RPO. They outta ALL be trashy.

Cleaning is one thing, but what if something was actually MADE out of spec by ten thousandths. Could take a bit of time to show a problem, but eventually will. Maybe there is a bad journal, or bad rod. Maybe they weigh all the rods from one manufacturer going into the Vette motors to get balance as good as can be for a production motor, but the product manger for the trucks authorized the use of rods from any manufacturer in the trucks, and maybe even mixed batches, or worse, mixed manufacturers. That sure would make a difference. Of course, just postulating.

Interesting, though, that they know the exact date range of the affected motors. So, they know exactly what's wrong, which will eventually become public, but they will likely not share HOW it happened.

10 thousandths is HUGE. Maybe .001 to .0015, maybe .002 out of spec. That would still cause problems right off the assy line. Especially if it were .001 or more too tight.

I haven't followed this whole thread so maybe someone has already mentioned this but if not Lake Speed, Jr. "The Oil Guy Geek" has a You Tube Video out on the 6.2 recall. I highly recommend if you have one of these affected engines you view it.

Maybe I worded it wrong, but you know what I meant. 😉

There are SO many videos on this. Do you have a link to the one you specifically mentioned?

I posted that vid on page 13 of this thread.

Has anyone tried trading one of these in yet? Carvana gave me a quote, didn’t love it but it was a quote.

Wondering if it’s not better to just dump early and move on to something else rather than deal with this bs.

What model and trim do you have, and what was the quote?

I also talked with carvana.... 21 with 15,700 miles  Z71 LTZ with all options but max towing. $40K

Carvana can be very generous or very low. Depends on what’s selling for them.

I sold a truck to them last year and the process was super fast and easy. So if you do get an offer you like, I wouldn’t hesitate to take it.

You can try and dump but prepare to probably take a hit on it as on the wholesale side of things they are staying away from them and the prices are dropping down.
