Check the ground wires on the top bellhousing bolt and the rear of the passenger cylinder head

From R&Ring the transmission on my '04 3500 w 6.0, I didn't have any ground wires on the bell housing bolts.  top center is for a bracket holding vent tubes, next bolt over to the driver's side is for the fuel/evap lines bracket, to the passenger side is the brace for the trans dipstick tube.

What's the point in asking if it's too cold for you to work on the truck?  Were you hoping there was a switch in the cab you had to flip to make it work?

If the truck just had the trans replaced, and these problems weren't happening before, but are now, then, most likely, they are related to doing that work.  So, some wiring harness is getting pinched, or not fully plugged in, or similar.  So really, the starting point is getting the truck up, and crawling underneath it to see what's up.

options.

well thankfully i know where to look but trying to squeeze my hand in there and feeling around is not working right now as its too cold maybe before my check in appointment it will warm up and i can find it or i can get lucky.

january 6 they were going to check for leaks maybe. there is a note on the paper work that they may have a immobilizer installed. i couldn't find anything.

the can bus performance issue could be poor communication to transmission module.

How old is the battery?  That can cause issues as well.

True. I had a relatively new battery and, at times, I would forget to turn off my dash cam while at home for a few days. The radar detector would shut off on low battery sensing (Uniden R8) but my dash cam (VanTru N4) would keep going and deplete the battery.
I replaced with an AGM and, lately, on the occasion I still forget, it (the battery) keeps going.
No more bringing out the MaxiSys to reset all of the codes after a battery low issue triggers all sorts of temporary codes. Now, I just do it for fun to reset transient temporary codes from time to time.

What year is your truck? My 2016 Sierra had issues that I was able to clear up by replacing the negative battery cable, cleaning the connections of course. You need an oem replacement for this. But first, if I had work done and then had problems I'd be all over that shop blaming them.
