im a little confused, go figure. i guess the 07 models are different but i thought "Z" anything on a truck was a 4x4 package. really nice truck btw.

Whats the point of putting a lift on a 2wd? I mean it might look good, but when it comes down to it, its still just 2wd. It can't handle mud or dirt or snow enough to have any fun. It doesn't look to bad though.

Great looking truck!

As far as the "Z" anything being 4wd... any GM vehicle on the GMT-900 platform can be ordered with a Z71 package, 2wd or 4wd. Yeah, it cheapens it a bit, but what can ya do?

And the comment about making the truck essentially a "pre-runner" it's an "in" thing now. Toyota and Nissan sell A LOT (and I mean a lot) of trucks that are prerunners. The Toyota Tacoma Prerunner and the Nissan Frontier Desert Runner are essentially 2wd trucks jacked up to 4x4 height. A lot of people have no need for 4wd (or the added price tag of it) but still want a TRUCK that is OFF the ground (something GM is not too good at).

If I had a 2wd, I'd do the same thing to it. :)

4x4 is just something to bail you out of a rut. If you know what your doing, you can still have fun in the mud with a 2WD. And what about pre-runners? You know, those trucks that race across the desert at over 90 mph?

Bad ass truck, BTW.

Thanks again. I wasn't into the off-road thing, but wanted the truck to look like a truck and not some low rider. Come on P245's on a truck? LT's should be standard. Nice ride height should be standard. Look at the competition's 2WD's. I got tired of looking up at Brand-X while sitting at a stop light. I like it.

Your ride looks great. I've got a 2wd and if I had more $$ and time I'd like to add a 'lil height. BTW...2wd drive with some sand in the bed does just fine in snow...if you know how do drive in it.

A 2wd with a rear locker and a decent driver can be quite able in both mud and dirt. Its not unlikely that it would be as capable as a bone stock 4wd. Its all about picking your route and maintaining momentum.
