Jason, If they are like most dealerships they will look at you like you have six heads and will probably try to avoid the replacement. I had mine replaced because I have a GM 'Certified' Used Warranty. If you bought it privately I would think that you do not have a chance.

If you do have the certified warranty, then I would at least try, if they say no call customer service and see if they will replace them for you. The worse that could happen is they say NO...

I have an 07 SLE2 interior. Had mine replaced long ago. It was a total waste of time.

What they replaced them with was exactly what my truck came from the factory with.

Yep,LT2/SLE2's already have the same covers,Its a waste of time to get them changed on these models.

Also most '09s,no matter what models,also have the new "updated" covers,again.....waste of time to change them.

i have an 07 silverado and my warranty is up on april 16th. I just bought it privately in december and i got the tsb numbers from MS3DALE and called my dealer and they didn't even look at the seats and i am getting them replaced with the new 09 /10 style. PLUS the guy who owned it before me must have smoked and there is 2 cigarette burn holes that won't be there anymore!! Just giving you guys the info that some dealers are still doing this. I am in Ottawa, Ontario by the way but still, a dealer is a dealer.

JUST GOT MY 08' RADO' BACK YESTERDAY!!!!

GOT FRONT SEATS, BACK SEATS AND CENTER CONSOLE REPLACED WITH THE NEW FABRIC!!!!

I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY AFTER I BOUGHT MY RADO' IN DECEMBER OF 2007....

I HAD A LITTLE HISTORY WITH THE GM CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT ALREADY BECAUSE OF A HORRIBLE PERSISTANT "CLUNKING & SNAPING" NOISE FROM THE REAR END AND/OR DRIVE SHAFT .... AFTER I FINALLY GOT THAT ISSUE RESOLVED AFTER 6 ATTEMPTS WITH 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS.... I SPOKE TO MY SERVICE WRITER MARCUS (VERY COOL AND HONEST GUY) ABOUT THE LENT PROBLEM....COME TO FIND OUT MARCUS AND I HAVE THE EXACT SAME TRUCK!!! AND!!! HE HAD ALREADY HAD THE SEAT COVERS REPLACED ON HIS!!! HE TOLD ME TO CONTACT GM CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND GET A DISTRICT SPECIALIST TO CALL ME IN REGARDS TO THE PROBLEM (BASICALLY THE SAME PROCESS TO GO BY WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT) THE DISTRICT SPECIALIST WILL CONTACT THE DEALER AND SEE WHAT SOLUTIONS THEY CAN COME UP WITH....AND THEY HE WOULD HANDLE THE REST....THIS WAS DONE ON DECEMBER 4TH 2009....I GOT A CALL FROM THE SPECIALIST "KIRK" TO RUNDOWN THE SOLUTION FROM THE DEALER ON DECEMBER 8TH....AND THE CONCLUSION WAS ....LOW AND BEHOLD!!! TO REPLACE THE SEAT FABRIC!!!! HE DID ADVISE THAT IT WOULD BE A FEW WEEKS TO GET ALL THE REQUIRED "PARTS" IN.....MARCUS THEN CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THAT EVERYTHING HAD GONE THRU AND THAT HE WOULD CALL ME WHEN EVERYTHING WAS READY...

DURING THIS TIME...SPECIALIST "KIRK" WOULD CALL ME EVERY WEEK...ON TUESDAY...AT 2PM OR 3PM ...RELIGIOUSLY!!! AND GIVE ME ANY UPDATES THAT HE HAD, AND WOULD ASK IF I HAD HEARD ANYTHING ELSE....

ALSO DURING THIS TIME....I WOULD VISIT MY DEALER AND SEE "MARCUS" FOR MAINTAINENCE, OR PICKING UP A FAMILY MEMBER WHOS GETTING STUFF DONE TO THEIR GM...AND MARCUS WOULD TRY TO GIVE ME AN UPDATE WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING FOR IT.

I GET A CALL ON MARCH 23RD FROM "KIRK" AND AN HR LATER FROM "MARCUS"....ALL THE PARTS ARE IN AND I JUST NEED TO LET THEM KNOW WHEN I COULD COME IN....SINCE I WAS ON SPRING BREAK VACATION ....I CALLED AND TOLD THEM I WOULD GO THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY ON MY FIRST DAY OFF...

I SHOW UP ON THE 30TH AT 7AM...I GET OFF AT 6AM...AND SEE MARCUS...HE ADVISES ME THAT HE WILL TRY TO GET IT DONE ASAP...BUT HE WANTS IT FOR AT LEAST 2 DAYS TO MAKE SURE THE FABRIC IS PLACED AND FITS PROPERLY...AND THAT I HAVE A RENTAL WAITING.... ...THEY GAVE ME A 2010 EQUINOX AS OPPOSED TO THE COMMON COLBALT.... BUT!!!! WHEN I GET INTO THE EQUINOX WITH 8700 MILES....I TRY TO START IT....AND IN THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER...IT READS...."ENGINE DISABLED"!!!!...AND IS CHIME'ING LIKE CRAZY !! ....LOL THEY GAVE ME A IMPALA..AND I DROVE AWAY ...LOL...

ON THURSDAY APRIL 1ST AT 3PM...I GET A CALL FROM MARCUS TELLING ME THAT MY TRUCK IS READY....WELL, I WENT IN AT 2PM FOR OVERTIME..AND WAS UNABLE TO GO GET IT, I TOLD HIM IF I COULD GET IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING....HE AGREED AND, STATED THAT WOULD BE BETTER FOR HIS GUYS COULD TAKE THEIR TIME TO WASH AND CLEAN UP MY TRUCK....

FRIDAY...THE 2ND....I GO AND GET MY RADO' AT 7AM...ITS THERE ON THE READY LINE...WASHED AND LOOKING HOT! HA HA....MARCUS HANDS ME MY KEYS AND PAPERWORK AND SAYS "I HOPE YOU LIKE IT AS WELL AS I DO"....FIRST THING I NOTICE WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR...IS HOW MUCH DARKER THE SEATS ARE!!! AWESOME!!....AND THEN!! THATS RIGHT!! A WHIFF OF THAT "NEW CAR SMELL" LOL EVEN AFTER OWNING MY RADO' FOR 2 1/2 YRS ... NEXT...THE FEEL!!...TIGHTTER!! MUCH MORE LIKE A SPORT FABRIC FOUND IN FORDS CLOTH SEATS....THEY ALSO REPLACED MY WHOLE CENTER CONSOLE...THE LEATHER/"PLEATHER" IS MUCH MORE TIGHTER ON THE TOP...

IN CONCLUSION!!!

VERY SATISFIED.....

IF YOU WANT SOME PICTURES OF THE NEW FABRIC LET ME KNOW...ILL TRY TO THROW SOME UP HERE IF I CAN....I DONT HAVE ANY OF THE OLD STUFF...BUT IM SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IF YOU LOOKING AT THIS FORUM HAHA

I just had the seat covers replaced under warranty in my 2007 GMC Sierra SLE1 using TSB #07-08-50-018F. The covers for all cushions and headrests were placed as well as the rear panels on the front seats. In addition, the entire center armrest/cupholder assembly in the front and the armrest/cupholder in the rear were replaced. All of the material on the new covers is different than on the original seats, not just the center insert material.

The original cloth seats and center armrest/cupholder assembly.

New seat covers, headrests, and armrest assembly.

The complete assembly has been replaced, not just the cloth material.

True,I can now say that ALL the material is now revised and different than the original,Again....ALL the material/fabric is now different,including the outer sections,not just the center sections.

I have a question. How would I know if my 09 Sierra has the newer fabric seat covers? The covers sj586 had installed looks like mine now. I am sure the answer is in this thread but there are 73 pages here to read. Any help or advice would be great. And yes they are the ebony colored covers.

Thats the new seat covers, however the problem is still there as GM didnt change the side material which is what collects lint the most. I had mine changed and wasnt happy so I switched to leather.

Thanks for the help. I have the newer style seat covers but they collect lint also. If there are any new updates keep us posted.

They have changed the outer material. I was at my local dealer yesterday and was looking at the 2010's. The new covers look a lot better. The outer fabric looks similar to the center but w/ a different pattern.
